In asking if I can take Cold and flu medicine and sertraline

Apologies in advance for posting here but I am hoping for a quick response because I’m getting worked up! I am 17 days into sertraline and propranolol and suffering awful health anxiety brought on from losing my Mum. I’ve woken up today with a bad cold and have taken a couple of cold and flu powders, went to take another and realised on the leaflet it says to check with a doctor if on antidepressants or beta blockers so am now freaking out. Anyone here with any experience of sertraline and propranolol, can you take over the counter medication with them?

I have done a few weeks ago with Sertraline and no ill effects. Hope you feel better soon. I lost my mum recently too. X

I take mirtazapine (although used to be on sertraline) and propranolol and have taken cold and flu remedies with no ill effects.

If you are worried then call the pharmacy in the morning for advice but I'm sure it will be fine x

Is it day and night nurse you're taking? If so then the tablets contain dextromethorphan (I think many brands contain this actually) which can interact with sertraline - more info: www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/dextromethorphan-with-zoloft-844-0-2057-1348.html

You'll likely be fine though, I never had any issues however I imagine it's more of a 'tell us so we know deal.

Thank you for the reassurance everyone. Not day and night nurse just own brand max strength lemsip type sachets. Anxiety has been through the roof, hence starting on the medication, but I’m still in the stage of needing constant reassurance ☹️AverageAvenger x
