What time is trampolining appropriate? AIBU advice needed!

Hello

Our neighbours children are getting us down. They have one of those stand on indoor trampolines (the type where the child holds the bar and jumps up and down) and although this seems innocent enough the noise it creates is awful.

We live in an old row of terraces which have crap inherent sound proofing as it is. The trampolining often starts at around 6am. It is a constant banging - they use it upstairs which I think makes the noise worse on the floorboards and also is right next to our bedroom. The banging wakes us up every morning. It’s CONSTANT like the worst hangover headache you’ve ever had.

This is my AIBU - can I ask them to not allow use of the trampoline before 8am? Is this acceptable? We don’t have children and are a very quiet couple. When I was a child I was always told to not make any sounds that would disturb the neighbours early morning.

I wanted to ask as I have posted about them before - they are not approachable and constantly argue and are generally unpleasant people. There’s a good chance even if we go over they’ll tell us to p off.

Or maybe just reassure me that they’ll get bored of it soon Smile prays

They will get bored of it but may take weeks I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask them to not play on it until after 9am

I think your request is reasonable but maybe put a note through door rather than go over.

If it’s not the trampoline it’ll likely be something else! Good luck....

Thanks Penguin - I always thought the note through door was a big no-no!

This is easier definitely as due to the weather it’s not like we see them regularly out in the garden or similar - we’d actually have to go round and knock (we’ve never done this for any reason).

If you share a party wall with me, the only time indoor trampolining is appropriate is when I'm out!

Wtf are people thinking when they let their kids do this sort of stuff when they have attached neighbours?
