My dh has called into work sick- because he has heartburn!
The pajamas are on, the pained expression is in full force.
For context- he has an iron gut normally and is placing the blame for his agony on having peas with dinner last night Hmm
I have a hiatas hernia and have been choked with heartburn during pregnancy so I'm no stranger to how he feels but a day off? Seriously!
I am insisting he rings our gp, he doesn't want to as 'its just heartburn' but if that was true, he would pop an antacid and go to work not moan around the house all day!

Oh my goodness Hmm
Men can be such wimps

Meh, sometimes a duvet day is needed. Better to take one day off before you get run down and need to take a few days off.
Is him being at home affecting your day?

Racecardriver · 14/01/2019 08:24

For heartburn? Are you sure there isn’t something wrong with him that he has confused for heart burn?

LittleLongDog · 14/01/2019 08:25

Why are you insisting he rings the GP?

And why won’t he take the antacid?

hipposarerad · 14/01/2019 08:28

He might be taking the piss, but also sometimes seemingly mundane, minor complaints can be severe. This time last week I was just getting in from A&E after needing morphine for poxy bloody indigestion pain. (The A&E doc says I need a scan to investigate why the pain was so severe).

If he's suffering heartburn so badly to need a sick day, he'll be seeking medical attention to check for underlying conditions won't he? Has he made a gp appointment??

paintinmyhairAgain · 14/01/2019 08:30

don't want to alarm you but my ex h had severe heart burn recently , no other symptoms and had two heart attacks as a result, he is still in hospital.
what i'm saying if your dh would normally take anatcid and carrying on i would keep an eye on him, men are known to be allergic to doctors surgeries.

Crackedvase · 14/01/2019 08:35

Ladies- I'm insisting he rings because, all jokes aside, its unusual for him and something just seems a bit off.
He threw up the ranitadine, and is now burping a lot so I'm wary. Yes, he is currently on phone making appointment!

YABU to use the word pajamas. Unless you're American

Crackedvase · 14/01/2019 08:36

hipposarerad

He was admitted in summer for a pain attack, CT showed diverticulitis (not flaring) so you are right to get a scan xx

Not everyone on this site is a woman and I'm not sure why you started this "light hearted" thread to, in effect, get people to have a go about your husband when you yourself admit this is unusual for him, he had an issue over the summer and was admitted to hospital and he's sensibly on the phone to the GP as we type.

All it did was encourage the usual "men are such wimps" generalised shit.

paintinmyhairAgain · 14/01/2019 08:55

all it did was encourage the usual 'men are wimps' generalised shit some are wimps but, just sometimes, there is a real reason that needs to be addressed . it's good op that he is going to see gp.

Twisique · 14/01/2019 09:10

Whats wrong with pajamas?

Hope he feels better soon OP.

MsPavlichenko · 14/01/2019 09:24

Pyjamas.

paintinmyhairAgain · 14/01/2019 09:27

it's nice to see the grammar police are out this morning, whatever gets you through the day i guess.

Ifangyow · 14/01/2019 09:42

If there's one thing I hate its women banging their bongos about how they managed to get through the day on 4 broken limbs and their head hanging off while simultaneously feeding 10 kids in a mud hut while cooking a 3 course meal and moaning about their partners having an illness. How dare men get ill and God forbid mention it.
Actually, why would he bother mentioning it to his superwoman partner? All its going to gain him is a lecture on the above.

That's me being lighthearted.....or not.

Twisique · 14/01/2019 10:31

O I see, its the spelling! I typed pyjamas in and it corrected to pajamas so I assumed I had the wrong spelling. Maybe its UK/USA.

I hope your husband is feeling better now OP.
