James Randi aka The Great Randi has spent much of his career as both an illusionist and a debunker of people claiming to have paranormal powers. Please read up on his one million dollar challenge, the attempts made to win the prize and the number of actual successes under scientific conditions.

No.

I went to one a few months ago with a friend. I wrote down everything that was said. Some things were right and some wrong. It was more fun discussing the outcomes over dinner with my friend after.

She told me some very positive things that haven't happened yet so fingers crossed.
It wasn't ridiculously expensive and we enjoyed ourselves so to me it was worth it. I might go again to one in the future but not regularly. There's one in a shopping centre near me which strikes me as an odd location!

No

MrsTerryPratcett · 14/01/2019 01:04

I believe they exist. I don`t believe they are psychic.

There are very easy ways to do it. Almost anyone can be taught in about half a day to be an entirely convincing psychic. If they are reading the future, they`re doing it the hard way.

When I went to see Derren Brown I stopped imagining that there could be any truth in psychics.

bananapeanutbutterandtoast · 14/01/2019 01:06

I don't believe in all that stuff so for me it was more about how it worked and the act of it as some kind of performance in which I was not just a spectator. It was intriguing really.
I would love to do a Louis Theroux style documentary and go round trying them all out. The whole set up was fascinating tbh

BobbyBanana · 14/01/2019 01:07

What does Derren Brown do?

bananapeanutbutterandtoast · 14/01/2019 01:08

Yes, almost anyone can be taught to cold read people. I've tried it and done pretty well. Can only be done face to face as there's so much to go on.

explodingkitten · 14/01/2019 01:11

I believe that people can be psychic sometimes, I've experienced it myself as have other family members. I do not believe that it is something that you can control for entertainment purposes. I believe that it can just happen to you very rarely, and that's it.
