Rest, and lemon and honey drinks

Only take meds at night as it's not sensible to suppress a cough unless you need to for sleep. A doctor this week advocated eating chocolate as the best thing

One every year or two I'll use codeine as a cough suppressant. Best at night so you get some sleep but ok in the day too if you need to get through something important without sounding like a barking seal.
