To think this is more than ‘bad periods’??

Posting for traffic 😭 feeling pretty desperate!

Please help - I need some advice from other women.

I’m 26 and no other health issues. My periods have always been a 4-6 week cycle and often closer to 6.

I had the contraceptive injection earlier this year and bled for the entire 3 months so came off it around June and have been without any hormonal contraception since.

(DP and I plan to TTC this summer)

However I have had horrible periods every 10-14 days since then- some as short as 5-7 days between and VERY heavy!

I’m exhausted, feel awful and very unwell!
Last week I had to take a few days off work after getting so dizzy I fell and cut my head!

I went crying to my GP who gave me tablets to ‘help’- all they’ve managed to do is also upset my stomach and make me feel worse (although DP - also a Dr btw- thinks this is just due to my being so unwell not the tablets- even though the timing matches perfectly)

This morning I woke up to the whole room swimming - I’ve laid in bed all morning just feeling sick and disorientated! Every time I move the room moves!

He insists I eat and take supplement tablets but I feel so sick and the upset stomach is not helping!

😭 I just can’t take it- I just don’t feel right at all

That's not normal, no. Go and see the doctor again and insist on being referred.

Go back to your GP again, or ask to see a different one, as this doesn’t sound right at all.

You may also have an iron deficiency after bleeding for such a prolonged time so you may need tablets.

Go back to the gp, alternatively see if your hospital runs a self referal gynae unit. But don’t put up with it.

Thanks guys- just spent 30 mins on the bathroom floor with dizzy induced nausea- I shall go back to GP ASAP

What are the tablets that are making you sick?

As someone that’s on the contraceptive injection, I think it’s possible that the irregular periods/intermittent bleeding could be caused by the withdrawal of the depo - it takes a while for it to completely leave your body and for your hormone balance to return to normal.

I would book an appointment with your GP ASAP as your symptoms seem to be getting worse, they should really help you more

First do a bloody pregnancy test.

@thewifi

If you saw the carnage of my last two periods (these last 3-4 weeks) 🙈
I would compare it to that scene in Carrie!!

There’s no way I could be pregnant right?!

Surely nothing could survive that!
