To have left this for oh to clean up

He got so drunk he urinated and vomited and passed out on the bathroom floor.

He later woke up and got into bed Envy
So when I got up I closed the bathroom door, told the children to use the other bathroom and when he woke up I told him he is not one of my children so I wouldn't be cleaning up his bodily fluids.

My mum thinks I'm disgusting for leaving it!!!

He is embarrassed, he went to a very rowdy wake and it's never happened before,

As you have an alternative bathroom, I see no problem with letting him clean up his own mess.

Bambamber · 12/01/2019 20:17

YANBU I have done exactly the same when my husband vomited in a hotel room. In the morning I made him go to the shops, but cleaning stuff and clean it up himself.

Consolidatedyourloins · 12/01/2019 20:18

YANBU. Did he clean up properly?

Your mum is silly.

Chinks123 · 12/01/2019 20:19

I wouldn’t have cleaned it up, like you say he’s not a child and can clean it up himself. I once (many years ago) was sick in our bathroom after a night out, and there’s no way dp would have cleaned it up. It’s a bugger to shift after a few hours though..

GertrudeCB · 12/01/2019 20:19

YANBU at all. Has he cleaned it properly?

Sexnotgender · 12/01/2019 20:20

YANBU, that’s revolting.

user1andonly · 12/01/2019 20:20

Yanbu. I would not be lifting a finger in there. And it had better be spotless when he's finished cleaning it.

Iloveacurry · 12/01/2019 20:20

No you did the right thing. You had another bathroom to use.

thecatsthecats · 12/01/2019 20:21

If I even tried to eat up something like that there'd just be more vomit on the floor.

Not that I would in a million years. My husband, for all his drunken, vomity, pissy faults, has always cleaned up his own messes (and grew out of that years ago, incidentally).

thecatsthecats · 12/01/2019 20:21

Eat up? Clean up.

Eating would obvs result in even more vomit.

MrsExpo · 12/01/2019 20:25

YANBU. I hope he learned a valuable lesson.

Sausagefingers9 · 12/01/2019 20:27

I’d have cleaned it if it wasn’t a regular occurrence.

Aquamarine1029 · 12/01/2019 20:29

Firstly, if my husband ever got so drunk he pissed and vomited all over the floor his life wouldn't be worth living. I would be RAGING. Secondly, I wouldn't even consider cleaning it up. That nasty mess would be for him to deal with.

tinydancer88 · 12/01/2019 20:29

I'd have left it too.

If he was genuinely poorly I'd do it for him, but I think if it's self inflicted we need to clean up our own messes!

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/01/2019 20:30

YANBU. Not your mum’s bathroom or husband, none of her business.

Moussemoose · 12/01/2019 20:31

As you have an alternative bathroom you were entirely reasonable.

I trust he is ashamed.

LovingLola · 12/01/2019 20:32

Why would you even tell your mother this ???

Sankayaded · 12/01/2019 20:36

YANBU! When my DH spewed (multiple times) in my car after I picked him up one night, I took his car to work the next morning leaving him mine to clean up his mess. As you say, he isn't one of your children but a grown man!

MrsPMT · 12/01/2019 20:36

YANBU, I would do exactly the same and expect my DP would if vice-versa, you make the mess, you clean it up. Think its different if someone is physically ill (not alcohol related).

Notso · 12/01/2019 20:36

I think YABU unless it's a common occurrence. I've cleaned up after DH and he's done the same for me.

ralphfromlordoftheflies · 12/01/2019 20:37

Why doesn't she contact him and tell him, the spewer of the vomit, that it's disgusting.

cheeseislife8 · 12/01/2019 20:39

YANBU. If there's another bathroom I would make him do it too. If Id vommed I wouldn't expect anyone else to clean it

BigBumandMumTum · 12/01/2019 20:40

Why would you even tell your mother this ???

She came round. He had messed up the better bathroom that people generally use.
