To cancel on this friend??

Hi, I invited a friend over on this weekend as she's split up with her boyfriend. She's a bit upset about it so I offered for her to come and stay the night.

After I asked her and she said she'd love to come over, she told me she has a chest, throat, sinus and eye infection.

I'm pregnant and now a little worried...should I rearrange for another time? I'd feel bad cancelling on her but I need to look after myself and baby as I already have a high risk pregnancy.

I will text her tomorrow to see how she is but is it then too late to cancel?

What would you do?

Thanks!

If she’s an understanding friend I’d text her and say I’m so sorry but I’m worried about catching something but say you’re available on the phone/FaceTime. Poor you hope the rest of your pregnancy turns out well x

Cancel asap.

Just call/text her asking how she is and say it's probably better that she rests at home this weekend and visits you next week, or whenever suits.

Probably more that she is sad and run down. Unlikely you will catch anything at this stage of her illness anyway. I would still have her over, just don't get abnormally close (avoid hugs and hello/goodbye kisses)

Thanks, I will text her in the morning and see how she is.

I feel guilty because I know she's having a tough time at home too so she could probably do with the break. And we don't see each other that often.
