School car park cow

School car park one - we have a very large school and car park gets v busy.
Dd was in after school care which clocks over to the next charging tier at 5.30 and I arrived from work with minutes to spare. Only space was in between two cars - to the left the lady was sitting in her car and well over the line. I squeezed in and ran to get dd. As I turned to check it was locking, I saw her looking grumpy and testing out opening her door then she shut it.
When I got back she got very cross winding down her window and saying I shouldn't have blocked her in. I said, sorry I had to run to get there before 5.30 and you were over the line. She said - it wasn't my fault, there was another car when I parked that was over the line.
The fact was a) there was no car to her left when I got there so she could have manouvered over to get out b) She could have got out of her other door c) she didn't actually need to get out as she was waiting for her son who walked to the car anyway.
We had a few more words and dd was trying to get into her seat when she revved her engine and said very aggressively- "I'm reversing so I suggested you get out of the way" and we had to jump out of the way, shaken up.
Aibu to think what a cow and I shouldn't feel guilty here?

Glass of wine & let it go.

Km06 · 11/01/2019 20:34

She should have corrected her parking once able 2 would have took her seconds .x.x

gimmeadoughnut123 · 11/01/2019 20:35

I wouldn't dwell on it. You were in your space so shouldn't feel guilty. She was sitting in a car for ages. She was able to reverse out the space and go somewhere else.

People are assholes in car parks, I have given up.

Km06 · 11/01/2019 20:35

And no do not feel guilty at all .x.x

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 11/01/2019 20:37

a) there was no car to her left when I got there

could you not have parked there?

eco1636 · 11/01/2019 20:40

Good point there are cones along there - possibly the car was there when I arrived but not when I got back. Cannot exactly remember but he space I went in was only one I could see

She’s obviously determined to be miserable- her problem, not yours.

BIWI · 11/01/2019 20:40

This doesn't make sense!

First you say Only space was in between two cars and then you say there was no car to her left when I got there

So you could have parked somewhere else!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 11/01/2019 20:41

You’ve contradicted yourself.

Dubbadubbadumdum · 11/01/2019 20:42

could you not have parked there?

I think OP meant that there was no car over the line on the left of the woman's car.
Car park cow was in the wrong, but you fell into the trap of arguing with stupid. If it ever happens again, act dumb, smile, blink your eyes and ask if she needs help to park as she seems to be having trouble.

Disfordarkchocolate · 11/01/2019 20:42

Was there a space to her left for a car?

eco1636 · 11/01/2019 20:43

I cant exactly recall but i do remember zooming in, only space was.to her right, and no car to her left when we got into the row.
Did not purposefully block her and I was in such a hurry.

Love the title OP.

eco1636 · 11/01/2019 20:44

Good advice Dubbadubbadumdum

a) there was no car to her left when I got there

So there were two spaces instead of one and you could have parked so you didn't block her in? YWBU.

BeanTownNancy · 11/01/2019 20:56

Meh. Car park bitch was over the line; she could have moved. You were in your space and she's a dick.

LynetteScavo · 11/01/2019 20:58

Yes, she's a cow.

I would remember her and get my revenge sometime, even if it's in the distant future.

There was no need for her to be such a cow.

MaisyPops · 11/01/2019 20:59

So she was over the line, you parked next to her but closer than she wanted and then she was an arse.

Maybe she should learn to park better and then she'll stop having those situations.

That said I think you've got to let it go.

catkind · 11/01/2019 21:00

Boo, I was hoping an actual cow had wandered in.

Hushnownobodycares · 11/01/2019 21:05

Was hoping this was going to be about some kind of mascot or something.

Humph at a two a penny human cow Angry

Cherrysherbet · 11/01/2019 21:21

Annoying, but things like this must happen a million times a day in car parks.

eco1636 · 11/01/2019 21:24

I just thought her threating way she nearly ran dd6 and me over was another level

Sparklfairy · 11/01/2019 21:27

The car to the left of Cow had clearly left in the time op went to get her DD!

Dubbadubbadumdum · 11/01/2019 21:28

Something hadls just occurred to me OP? Was the child seat in the opposite side of her car? I know when a woman who works in my building is bringing her kids home straight from work-she will park way over to one side of her space, so she can open the car door wide and get the kids in without inconvenience to herself. She totally stuffs up the limited parking available, and pisses me and everyone else off in the process!

Nothisispatrick · 11/01/2019 21:48

Doesn’t matter whether there was a car to the left or not, car park cow shouldn’t be parked over the line. If there was a car that forced her to do that, she should’ve moved when it left. OP is not unreasonable in any way.
