To want containers for my kitchen that aren't labelled for one purpose only?

I've been looking for an enamel bucket, in a cream, or light pastel colour, with a wooden handle. For general bucketty purposes, like cleaning and carrying stuff, whatever. I did have a lovely one that I bought years ago, and made boring bucket-related tasks somehow happier, but (sob...) not any more.

Anyway, I have spent all evening googling and every single flipping one has stupid black writing on the front describing what you should use it for: 'Ash' 'Kindling' 'Compost' etc. Why do they spoil perfectly versatile products with stupid labels? Like those Housekeeping caddies that might be really cool to keep craft stuff in for the kids, if they didn't have 'Housekeeping' blaring all over the front.

I know that I could put anything I liked into a 'Kindling' bucket once it was mine, but... it would constantly annoy me...

Is anyone else annoyed by this? Or am I being unreasonable to mourn for my irreplaceable bucket?

I had a water bottle that had ‘Drink, Gym, Sleep’ on it or some reductions trio of words that didn’t apply to me.

I few goes in the dishwasher and those words have disappeared!

Maybe you could scrub them off??

Our local garden centre sells nice enamelled utility wear but I’m sure it’s all labelled too.

Plenty on eBay from “Oh that’s not a bad price “ to “ Saw you coming “ !

Paint it!

Thanks for the suggestions! Typically the ones I like are in the ‘saw you coming’ scale...

How about this?

I thought this was going to be about coffee, tea, sugar, biscuit, etc etc sets. They really wind me up - maybe I want to put hot chocolate, or pasta, or gravy granules in it Ffs!

I've resorted to buying the world's supply of recycled galas jars with cork lids in defiance. BlushGrin
