Misspelled my name on the contact?

Work contract came in the posts. My surname is misspelled. Should I contact them or AIBU to just leave it?
The job is not something I really want to stay in for long. It's literally something to do before I find something else in my industry

I would tell them. Just in case it has any impact on other things like, for example, your pay.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/01/2019 13:12

Tell them but, you know, typos happen Wink

Yes, contact them. It's hardly an exciting error, but it is important.

Have you checked the rest of the contract to be sure it's what you expected?

Kethy · 08/01/2019 13:19

Whatever you do, don't tell them they've "misspelled" it Grin

What's wrong with telling them they have misspelled the name?

explodingkitten · 08/01/2019 13:26

Surely this is why they send you the contract by post? So you can check it?

ApolloandDaphne · 08/01/2019 13:28

Just let them know. Why would it be an issue?

BlueBell10 · 08/01/2019 13:31

Honestly I sometimes I just feel like I can't be arsed messaging them. It's a fairly big company with horrendous reviews on google trustpilot etc. My interview sucked my brain out. The two that interviewed were incredibly childish yet arrogant. It's not where I see myself working in the future but I do need a job and this will do until I find something else

Kethy You can use either correctly.

MikeUniformMike · 08/01/2019 13:45

I would e-mail them if you are taking the position.
If your name is wrong on the payroll it could cause no end of hassle.

burritofan · 08/01/2019 14:46

Tell them in case it's wrong all over – I.e. IT setting you up on email and internal messaging with the misspelled name and it being a ballache to change. Before you know it you'll be a Pheobe or a Racheal forever!
