2 months post partum and severe dandruff

I'm 2 months post partum and have recently developed severe dandruff. If I scratch my head, it goes everywhere. I'm extremely self conscious about it and it's got to a point where I don't want to go out, it's that bad.

Has anyone experienced this before? I can't exactly go to the doctors with dandruff, and can't afford to see a dermatologist.

Has anyone fixed dandruff successfully before?

Yes, I had this. My scalp was disgusting for months after giving birth. I was too exhausted/depressed to do anything about it and it sorted itself out when my hormones calmed down.
