to swear at Siri?

So, yesterday I swore at Siri due to a series of communication errors... (there was no-one with me, I was by myself, and I was really very irritated).
My DH, on the other hand, is always excessively polite to his Siri, and says that he thinks that you should always be polite, no matter the situation.
So, something that has been bothering me recently is - is it okay to be rude to a computer? Will I go to hell for not being polite to a bloomin' phone? What are your thoughts?

I like to flirt with my Siri Grin

I get a bit arsey with cashpoints and self service tills but I don't like it on those robot videos when they are unkind to them,....you know when they trip them, or move parcels or try to push them over.

so on the whole I try to be nice, but the cashpoints are pitas and won't be able to chase me down the street come the Robot Revolution and subsequent Revolution

subsequent REBELLION!!

dh interrupted me. I will offer him up as a sacrifice, I can tell you. QUITE happy to be mean to him.

I'm always polite. I mean, have you seen Terminator? Shock

I get arsey with self service checkouts too. It often goes like this:
Them: "Unexpected item in bagging area!"
Me: "It's A BAG."
Them: "Please remove this item before continuing."
Me: "I would if there was anything to remove!"
Them: "Unexpected item removed from bagging area! Help will be with you shortly!"

I did get pissed off at Alexa earlier because she kept playing the same two songs, one of which I hate, the other I listened to once and didn't fancy hearing again!

YANBU!

Sitranced · 07/01/2019 17:02

Turn that bitch off.

iaskMNeverything · 07/01/2019 17:03

Alexa says she's sorry she doesn't understand

winsinbin · 07/01/2019 17:05

I don’t think Siri should respond unless you say please and I think it should reprimand you if you fail to say thank you.

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 09/01/2019 14:09

Hehe, thanks guys!
@NotUmbongon - I have no idea how that would work and I think MN needs an example... Grin
@yawning - that dialog is too realistic... it sent shivers down my back.
@IaskMN piss off Grin
@winsinbin - this is a horribly sensible suggestion. It would be a way of subconsciously forcing a nation into being polite...
@iklboo - exactly! And I was also thinking of my 'good points' score (like on 'The Good Place')

I always think it’s unwise to be rude to Siri. The singularity isn’t far off Grin It will all be stored on the Robot Cloud, everything will be remembered, and a profile will be compiled on you...you’ll probably be assigned to some godawful menial role when they eventually take over...
