Today my disabled 5 year old learned a lesson in crap humans who decided to steal her special needs pushchair, I’m absolutely devastated. The police have been lovely.
But I’m just :0 how anyone could thing this is an ok thing to do
She is so upset that it’s gone and was telling the police, that her legs will now reallt really hurt and she can’t get to school !

That's below pond scum

Where was it taken from?

Could you ask on any local FB groups?

Santaisfastasleepatlast · 07/01/2019 15:48

Could you contact a local newspaper?

AnnAbbieLian · 07/01/2019 15:53

Obviously it is a terrible thing to do and the people who did it must have very hardened hearts to be able to do such a thing, but they are still human beings and like all humans will be a complex mix of both positive and negative qualities (even if this particular negative quality is deeply antisocial and requires external constraint).

I get why you feel the way you do though.

Chewinggumwalk · 07/01/2019 15:55

Jesus, that is so awful. Hope they manage to get it back for her Flowers

RosemarysBabyDress · 07/01/2019 15:58

that's despicable.

Try to spread the word on local facebook groups, selling groups and keep an eye on ebay and gumtree.

Thief of any kind are utter scums, they do not give a shit about the grief and anxiety they put their victims through, they do not know about their circumstances and do not care. I remember the article about Christmas gifts stolen at GOSH - of all places!, and people burgled whilst at a funeral.

On the other hand, some people are amazing and lovely. If you share your story locally, someone might be able to help, have a pushchair you could use that they no longer need and so on. It's worth a try, not everybody is a scum. Flowers

Nonibaloni · 07/01/2019 15:59

When my purse was stolen and cards used I didn’t wish the theif any worse that to be caught and face justice. No particular vengeance from me because I figured if they were stealing money they had bigger problems than I did.
Steal a child’s mobility aid is a different thing altogether. Can be no reason other that thrills at others expense. Was it insured? I have no idea how it works. I know it was a real struggle with my friend had to send her daughters for repair.

Icantchooseausername · 07/01/2019 16:03

I agree with above, local Facebook groups, local papers etc to see if you can get the word out.
Awful.
I've lost faith in humans recently tbh.

AppleBlossomArseCheeks · 07/01/2019 16:11

Sad that is truly awful, how could anyone stoop so low. Pond life!
I would put a post up on fb selling pages describing pushchair and from where it has been stolen. Maybe someone saw it be taken and can help get the person caught

ourkidmolly · 07/01/2019 16:20

@AnnAbbieLian
Deeply unhelpful post. Patronising twaddle too. Of course Op knows all humans have positive and negative personality traits. That's not what you need to be reminded of when you're going to have to fill out an epic application form for a new one. Get it measured, wait in etc. Not too mention the fact her child can't access what they need.
But yes let's focus on the thief's positive qualities. ConfusedHmm

Lifecanbeabeach2 · 07/01/2019 16:21

We have a Facebook post going and all keeping eyes posted on selling sites and have rang non emergency police who were lovely !

OP posts:
oh4forkssake · 07/01/2019 16:23

That's the most awful thing I've heard in a long time :-( Your poor DD.

iklboo · 07/01/2019 16:24

Absolutely disgraceful OP. I'm so sorry. I hope you get it back and the thieving scum are caught.

Jaxhog · 07/01/2019 16:24

Seriously? You think that at some level this theft might be excusable? What about all the majority of disadvantaged people who have the moral fibre to NOT stoop so low? These thieves are criminals of the lowest order.

Good luck with getting it back, or a replacement Op.

ItsQuietTime · 07/01/2019 16:28

@AnnAbbieLian

You forgot to also tell the OP to "turn her frown upside down" 🙄

RosemarysBabyDress · 07/01/2019 17:17

If you are trying to see the best in people, I suppose you could argue that the thief were desperate to find the right pushchair for their own child, or their own little brother or sister. No excuse, but you could imagine that it was a desperate and selfish gesture, as opposed to a pure scummy one.

NewYorkDoll3 · 07/01/2019 17:25

@Lifecanbeabeach2

What a twat of the highest order this thief is..

Keep your eye on facebook marketplace and Ebay as those fuckers have the cheek of the devil, and will try to sell it.

Report it to the cops - obvs.

And start a gofundme page to try raise money for another one.

I am so sorry! Sad

Yeah I am SURE that's why they nicked it, coz someone in their family wanted one. FFS! Hmm

Lifecanbeabeach2 · 07/01/2019 17:38

So Facebook worked ! Her chair was found dumped with milkshake over it outside the local school !
Hopefully I can clean it up !

OP posts:
RosemarysBabyDress · 07/01/2019 17:40

NewYorkDoll3
well, how do you know for sure why someone stole a special need pushchair? Can you state that they did it for fun to play with it, to sell it ,or to give it to someone? If you do, get a job with the police, they could use your skills.

I never excuse thief, just pointing out that you don't know the story. That was in reply to post from AnnAbbieLian.

RosemarysBabyDress · 07/01/2019 17:41

great news Lifecanbeabeach2, fingers crossed they haven't damaged it and it's cleanable.

Yobs took it for shits and giggle. Twats.

I have cried all day we already have so much to contend with and quite frankly I could give a shit why they took it
I quite need a new hoover I’m not going to steal one.
Unfortunately it looks very much like it would need a good steam clean ( she is immune compromised ) and the brakes replaced :( before she can use it again but a lot cheaper than a new one !

OP posts:
youwouldthink · 07/01/2019 17:48

Dellighted you got it back for your DD. If you could get hold of a steam cleaner it might help x

NewYorkDoll3 · 07/01/2019 17:55

@RosemarysBabyDress

Tsk, tsk... Temper temper. Wink No need for such abuse. Just because you were wrong and I was right. Grin
