I'm not well! I suspect tonsilitis but my legs are really hurting , like I can't keep them still and I've got a temp. Been awake since 1 and can't go off because I'm feeling so awful! AIBU to wake my oh to get me some painkillers when he will have to get up with the kids in a few hours because I won't be able to feeling like this ?

Yes! Wake him up if you are in pain!

Lovingbenidorm · 06/01/2019 04:28

If you really feel that shite yes wake him up.
What time would he be getting up?
You’re obviously not well, can you get pain killers and snuggle?
Seriously, if you feel very unwell I don’t think it’s unreasonable to wake him.
We all do ‘stuff’ for our loved ones.
I’m just going to bed now having waited for The Times (thieving bastards, long story ) otherwise DH was going to get up at 6am.
Hope you feel better soon x

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 06/01/2019 04:32

If you are already awake and in pain then surely you can get them yourself, no offence but tomorrow may be worse and he may be too exhausted to help if you wear him out now. You are well enough to type for now, in this time you could have gone grabbed them

MutantDisco · 06/01/2019 04:33

Last time I had sore legs, it was an infection (I had mastitis) and I needed IV antibiotics in A&E. I would phone OOH then wake your DH.

lifebegins50 · 06/01/2019 04:38

What is your temperature? I would get the painkillers myself and see if they help. You could have restless legs which might be magnesium deficiency.

moanymoaner · 06/01/2019 04:39

I feel hugely dramatic and hate the idea of ringing ooh I just want to sleep it off but can't sleep because my legs feel like they're falling off and my throat and neck are killing . I am in my daughters room (she's sleeping out) so I tried to quietly call him but he can't hear so I'll just wait it out till someone wakes or I can muster some energy to get some myself . I think I just needed to write it down to be honest!

Sore legs and restlessness are signs of an infection OP. You need antibiotics.

moanymoaner · 06/01/2019 05:06

I will ring ooh when it's daylight . I crawled down and got myself some cocodmol so I'm hoping I can sleep for a bit now!! Typical due back in work tomorrow , imagine how it will look if I'm off sick on the first day after 3 weeks off!

You do sound overly melodramatic to be honest

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 06/01/2019 05:07

Most people so sick they have to crawl down the stairs don’t pause to type about it lol

MrsFoxPlus4 · 06/01/2019 05:09

I honestly thought you meant he had to go to a 24 hour shop to pick them up. Not that they were downstairs. Very dramatic. If your feeling that bad I’d phoned NHS24/7 and I would wake him for that.

rededucator · 06/01/2019 05:11

Apologise and explain why you can't get them yourself but that you really need them

moanymoaner · 06/01/2019 05:30

For those who insist on being nasty there really isn't any need . Pausing to type because I'm lying here having been awake for four hours in pain isn't taking the energy that i needed to get myself pain killers because my legs are hurting so much! Maybe I am being dramatic but I feel horrendous .

StereophonicallyChallenged · 06/01/2019 05:36

I've just dragged myself downstairs for more painkillers and a bowl of ice cream to try and ease the pain in my throat.
If my bf was here I'd have definitely woken him up to go for me!

This sucks and I feel your pain OP Sad

moanymoaner · 06/01/2019 05:37

@StereophonicallyChallenged hope you feel better soon. I should have said dragged not crawled because I didn't physically crawl it was just really hard work. Horrible lurgies!

flumpybear · 06/01/2019 06:02

Get him to bring you lots of pain meds and some food too as you'll need some with ibuprofen- keep dosed up for the next few days and just rest

costacoffeecup · 06/01/2019 06:32

@Lovingbenidorm is it still being nicked?!!

Bubbinsmama · 06/01/2019 09:00

@moanymoaner poor you!! I'd definitely have woken my other half, that's what we do, look after eachother.
I hope your better soon Flowers

Dora12 · 06/01/2019 09:07

Tonsilitis can be horrendous, you definitely need to phone out of hours. I've had it that bad I've had to crawl to the toilet and I passed out once I got there. So no, you're not being unreasonable to ask him to get some tablets for you. Please go and get some antibiotics from the doctors.

StereophonicallyChallenged · 06/01/2019 12:56

I've managed to sleep a few hours now Smile hope you are too OP!!

moanymoaner · 06/01/2019 13:12

I slept 5.30-8 have felt rotten all morning and rang OOH but have taken more meds and loads of fluid and I'm lying in bed so I think when they call me back I'll just say I'll see GP tomorrow. Glad you managed to sleep @StereophonicallyChallenged

Hi costa, yes!
Am going to ask the delivery company to either squeeze it through the letterbox or sling it over the garden wall!
