Apparently there are a few white creme eggs hidden in normal packaging and you can win £1000 if you find one…AIBU to think it’s so easy to just open a bit of the foil wrap to see the colour inside that all the eggs on the shelves are gonna be half open from people looking for the white ones?! Envy Maybe I’m thinking too harshly about the people of our country but I’m just worried about my creme eggs! Sad Grin

Creme eggs are a bad idea whatever colour they are. Yuk!

UhUhUhDennis · 03/01/2019 23:43

I agree. Some are worth £10000! They need to be wrapped differently if they're going to do this sort of competition. I'm put off buying them this year because so many people will have been touching them up and peeling their skin Grin

gaggiagirl · 03/01/2019 23:43

They did this last year too I think.
I have a strategy.
Buy a box of 40 or however many they come in from Amazon. I didn't do it last year and have lived with crippling regret ever since.

Oswin · 03/01/2019 23:44

Last time the Co op my mom works in had to put the creme eggs right next to the till because people were just opening loads. Just scratching there grubby nails through the wrapping. Stupid idea.

gaggiagirl · 03/01/2019 23:45

We should all buy them boxed in bulk, verruca salt style. Then we won't be dodging grubby fingers.

Tirednessandmoretiredness · 03/01/2019 23:46

There's only certain shops that have the white ones. They aren't everywhere. I think it's something like asda co-op and m&s. I could be wrong in which case bring on massive Amazon order....

chipsandgin · 03/01/2019 23:46

Crime eggs (that’s autocorrect but I’m sticking with it) are now made with the waxy abomination that Cadbury are now peddling & not dairy milk so I’m never buying them again, ever. Aside from that I can’t imagine it will occur to many to go round all the shops scratching the packaging!

Fatted · 03/01/2019 23:47

Urgh. Confused

Although I did notice Tesco do a multi pack of 6 creme eggs and 6 caramel eggs. That's my Easter sorted.

Strawbberrypineapple · 03/01/2019 23:50

Creme eggs taste disgusting these days so Id be well fed up to find that I had paid for 40 and none of them a winnerSad and then Id have to bin them!

ifoundthebread · 03/01/2019 23:51

They did a similar campaign last year and exactly what you've said happened in my local asda 🤢

OvenChipsAndWineForMe · 03/01/2019 23:56

I've not even taken down my Christmas tree yet and the eggs are making an appearance 🍳 🤷‍♀️

Jenny17 · 04/01/2019 00:08

Eggs are late this year. Usually they are mass available on 27th Dec....

FangTasticBeast · 04/01/2019 00:15

I had a couple just before Christmas before I know about the white ones and that people were probably fiddling with them 🤢

MarcieBluebell · 04/01/2019 00:16

Yes last year loads were slightly unpeeled. I read if you look on the ingredient list it says white chocolate anyway.

Thewifipasswordis · 04/01/2019 00:19

Its why most shops keep them by the till now. Everyone was scraping the foil with their nails 🤢

starzig · 04/01/2019 00:36

Yep. That happened last year. Piles of opened creme eggs.

Eminybob · 04/01/2019 01:05

I said that exact same thing to DH.
Creme eggs are rank anyway, regardless of change in recipe. They just taste like sugar inside Envy

TrudeauGirl · 04/01/2019 06:56

I work in retail and we had to get ride of half a box of cream eggs as somone had opened them all. It was disgusting Angry

What an absolute waste of food. People are thoughtless. We ended up having to move them next to tills so we could watch them.
