AIBU to not want a new phone

My phone is completly fine, a year or 2 old, works well and I'm very happy with it. My husband keeps going on about how I need a new phone and asking if I want a phone. I politely say no, im happy with it but he keeps suggesting I get phone and suggesting ones that are crazy expensive. We don't even have the money to spend on the phones he's suggesting (we are trying to save for a house)
Is he BU Not listening or AIBU / I'm being harsh rejecting his offer?

FGS, of course you're not being unreasonable. You don't need a new phone and you don't want one. Tell your husband this discussion is OVER because you're fucking sick of it.

If you're still paying the contracted amount per month but are out of contract, it's probably worth looking into a sim only deal. I was due an upgrade but happy with phone so ended up paying a lot less per month on a sim only deal. I went to sort out a new phone for DS before Christmas and realised I'm once again out of contract (sim only 1 year contract). I could have a new phone and more data for less or similar to what I'm currently paying, so will probably look for another new cheaper sim only contract.
Some people are obsessed with the latest new phone, you're not. Ask him why on earth he's so bothered by what phone you have?

Is he after something new +expensive? My exh bought me a new unwanted /unrequested phone to placate me so he could buy golf clubs...

Are you paying monthly for the phone or is it your own phone and you're paying for the SIM?

If you're paying monthly and the contract is due to end then there are always options to upgrade, often for free but if you own the phone outright then don't bother and keep your phone!

YANBU. Think of all the people who cannot afford a new phone.

You haven't got a birthday coming up, have you? DH might already have bought you one...

Cowgirljess · 03/01/2019 17:20

No birthdays soon. I think he might want something expensive himself

Sounds like this is a present to himself. If you are entitled to an upgrade I bet his phone will break/be lost when your new phone arrives and he will borrow your new one.
