To ask for help with passport photos

Posted here for traffic.
Local photo booth took my money and crashed - twice. Can I take photos against a magnolia wall with an iPhone 8 and have them printed off somewhere?
Thanks

If it is for a renewal, just upload the photo onto the website and apply online.

That's where it gets complicated - I've had a passport before but it was many years ago. I've been married and changed my name by deed poll since then

The other one is a first passport for my DD

Yes do it online. I sent mine in last week and got the passport today! It includes guidelines on how to take the photos and you can use a phone.

youcanthaveitchyteeth · 02/01/2019 23:37

Do they not need to be signed then?

Ah just seen update. In that case, can't you go to a photo place which takes the photos for you rather than a booth?

UsernamesSoHardToChoose · 02/01/2019 23:38

As long as wall is plain and there are no shadows on your face or wall it’s ok. I’ve not mastered it on my phone with lighting yet

Absentwomen · 02/01/2019 23:38

Or go to Max Speilman and have passport approved photographs taken.

TooOldForThisWhoCares · 02/01/2019 23:39

You'd have to do your dd as paper application as it's the first and probably yours too. It on my accepts online renewals if you're "recognisable" from your last passport.

Charmatt · 02/01/2019 23:40

Yes you can. Look at the online application and it gives you guidance as to what is acceptable.

legolimb · 02/01/2019 23:40

Mine was a standard renewal. I took a selfie and it came out fine

However you need a hard copy so maybe try a photo shop or some pharmacies take photos for this purpose.

dementedpixie · 02/01/2019 23:41

Use the paspic website. You upload photos taken against a light background and they post back passport compliant photos within a couple of days

dementedpixie · 02/01/2019 23:43

You can do a first passport online but need to print off a declaration for the countersignatory to sign. You also need 2 photos as one needs to be countersigned too

LittleBearPad · 02/01/2019 23:45

Go to snappy snaps.
