Am I the only one without a fire blanket?

Inspired by another thread... does everyone have one? I've never been in a private home (as opposed to a holiday let) that has one...

I don't have one. But my cooking is fairly low risk (mostly boiling vegetables; no chip pans) and I'm not very risk averse anyway. I've had a couple of brandy fires in 30 years of cooking but they burn themselves out in seconds. Maybe I should worry more.

I hardly do any proper cooking but want a fire blanket, fire emergency button and a fire extinguisher - well until I realise they won’t look nice in my new lovely looking kitchen

I have one, I was a childminder and still have bits and pieces left including a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher.

It's far more important to have working smoke alarms and an evacuation plan (and a carbon monoxide alarm too). They're more likely to save your life than a blanket.

No.

I have one. I have extinguished three kitchen fires in my lifetime (none at my own house, I hasten to add - only one had a fire blanket).

We have one in the cupboard near the stove. It's only because as a child I was staying at my Grandma's house and she put the chip pan on (this was in the 90's when a proper chip pan was an actual thing rather than an actifry) and she nodded off while I went out to fetch the papers, came home and the postman was trying to kick down the front door as he'd spotted the kitchen window pouring out black smoke. Fortunately she was fine after a little spell in hospital from the smoke damage but it's always terrified me since then. I don't fry anything ever, but still keep the fire blanket and extinguisher anyway.
