WIBU to complain about the Amazon delivery man?

Interested to hear opinions on whether a grumpy email should be sent regarding the parcel delivery we’ve just had, or whether to forget about it in the spirit of New Year!

My sister has been waiting today for a parcel containing some face oil. We’re sat at the dining table right by the living room window playing a board game when my dog (who is in the garden) starts barking. My sister stands up from the table to see the Amazon delivery driver throw her parcel over the garden fence (approx 6.5 feet high), on to the concrete path and walk off. Would it be unreasonable to email amazon and ask them to have a word with him about being a bit more careful?

Now I appreciate that there was a dog in the garden and she was barking, but a) he didn’t hang around for longer than a couple of seconds to see if someone appeared from the house (surely if there’s a dog in the garden you’d assume there’s someone home?!), and b) we have a large letter/postbox mounted on the fence right next to the garden gate so that people don’t have to bother coming in for letters or small parcels. It’s a small Jiffy bag that would have easily gone in there, and the post box is bright red, so you can’t really miss it.

The face oil is fine, but if it was the brand new Fitbit she’s been waiting for then it might have been a different story...

Yep I would definitely complain!

Yeah email them. I've been a delivery driver and often it ain't easy, but would never do something so arsey. Timed drops and all that, pressure, but not that much. Some CCTV of dropped teles and stuff unbelievable. Unfortunately so many in the post/ delivery business are useless. In fact I'm convinced some enjoy being awkward!

I know they don't get paid very much and are under tons of pressure but that really is just taking the piss. I'd complain but do mention the dog in case the driver has a phobia or something? I try to overlook most things but have complained myself once before- when a driver left a parcel under a hedge in our front garden during a massive storm but claimed to have left in in our nonexistent greenhouse. Never heard back about the complaint.

I completely understand that some people have issues with dogs (and although she is very sweet natured she’s a big dog too!) so I don’t blame him at all for not wanting to open the gate. We do quite often get shouts of ‘Can you call your dogs in please!’ from people trying to deliver stuff Blush

This guy didn’t even try though Hmm

Definitely. Have had it happen a couple of times, Amazon extended my Prime by a couple of months or made other refunds.

I'm no good with dogs at all but I'd never launch a parcel. No excuse not to try a neighbour or try and get the owner to call the dog in.
