Not resolutions, but what are you aiming towards/hoping to achieve?

OP posts:
WatchingFromTheWings · 31/12/2018 11:46

I've entered 2 half marathons. Never done one before!

Girlicorne · 31/12/2018 12:10

We have a family flip chart up on the kitchen wall, we want to do everything on that! It's all holidays, day trips, weekends away! And that's as far as I go with goals/resolutions :-)

Redcrayonisthebest · 31/12/2018 12:29

I just want to feel "well" as I seem to spend most of my time feeling under the weather and tired currently.
So taking better care of my health by eating better, exercising, getting better quality sleep, meditation to combat stress and drinking more water.

Sitranced · 31/12/2018 12:30

Get my business idea up and running. Been musing and thinking about it for years. I'm going to do it properly.

OhioOhioOhio · 31/12/2018 12:39

To get to sleep earlier.

To stay organised.

To be totally present with my kids when im with them.

To get myself 'back out there'.

To work out how to get myself 'back out there'.

To work out what being 'back out there' actually means.

To get divorced.

TeslasTeaCup · 31/12/2018 12:48

Stop vaping.

Get my drivers licence.

Get a divorce.

Beautify my bedroom (albeit on a shoestring budget).

Declutter home in view to save money and clear out mental/emotional clutter.

Travel to at least 2 different countries.

Learn a new skill - art related.

Spend more time outdoors.

Read more, less screen time.

Pay off loan (I know, I know, I won't be able to do some of the above if I commit to this entirely 😢).

Rein in silly clothes shopping habit 😂😢

Complete an important work related course.

Volunteer my time at least once a quarter.

Eat more fresh, wholesome food.

CMH123 · 31/12/2018 13:04

@sitranced I'm trying to do exactly the same. Good luck!

Thetruthwillout80 · 31/12/2018 16:28

To move far away and start again.

Build up my savings (car fund) in preparation for buying a car next year.
Read 10 books.

NameChangeNugget · 31/12/2018 16:37

To stop having goals and live life more in the moment. I’ve lived my entire adult life, striving for the next goal at the expense of appreciating the here and now.

I will do this!

Santasonmynaughtylist · 31/12/2018 16:42

To be happy.
I am pretty happy now but family drama has a habit of knocking on my door and I intend not to answer.

ThatPeskyElf · 31/12/2018 16:45

Declutter
To learn how to run
Loose 3 stone
Get a hobby

Jellylover · 31/12/2018 16:59

To make more time for family and friends
To do a fun activity at least once a month - theatre trip, meal out
Not sweat the small stuff
Pretty much the same as 2018, 2017, 2016.....

ChristmasRaven · 31/12/2018 17:04

Cut down smoking - I don't want to stop, I enjoy it, but I want to smoke less!
Cut down drinking - For the same reasoning as the above!
Move more - I've been working from home for a few months and have become so so lazy.

Ironically I am sitting writing this post on my work laptop with a glass of wine poured and a cigarette in my hand! Blush

Generally speaking, sort my flipping life out!

Politicalacuityisathing · 31/12/2018 17:08

Less phone (including, particularly Mumsnet!)
More running (frequency and distance: 3x a week EVERY WEEK; 17k trail)

mountainlakes · 31/12/2018 17:13

Lose weight 5-6 stone.
Reduce the amount of antidepressants.
Get fit.
Investigate whether Christianity suits me.
Be kind to myself. Encourage my dcs to be kind to me and treat me nicely. They scream in my face, push me, nearly pushed me over, several times, one kicked me in the stomach several times on holiday, say nasty things about me and to me, don't care about things that are important to me... I try really hard not to let it get to me. I am told by dh that I am a good and loving mother.

B00kedEarly8 · 31/12/2018 17:53

Stay employed. Big birthday, so wish to visit lots of family and friends. Travel to New places. Do something new. Stay healthy. Be happy !

Redcrayonisthebest · 31/12/2018 17:56

@mountainlakes sorry to hear about your children, that sounds awful. Are there any other factors making them behave like this?
