On the back of an earlier thread! Yesterday, at the supermarket with my healthy(slim) 16year old daughter. Walking across the carpark, she was eating a biscuit 🍪. A person scowled at her and said “you should’nt be eating that, you’ll get fat. Then you’ll be running round the block to wear it off”!
He wasn’t joking. Why do people thinks it’s ok to make such comments to complete strangers? It’s like saying “Cheer up, it might never happen” !! Who knows what’s going on in someone’s life right now.

Because the world is full of A-holes and cunts Who think they're somehow big and clever passing comments usually to young girls
I guarantee he wouldnt pass comment to a 6ft tall 5ft wide bloke.

mimibunz · 31/12/2018 09:38

PP is absolutely right! Strangers (men especially) love to make comments to young girls. Makes them feel powerful?

FortunesFave · 31/12/2018 09:42

Did you give her a suitable line in case anyone ever has the balls to say such a thing again?

Something like "The only running I do is to get away from weird old wankers like you!"

Who you then referred to as 'he' Grin

thedevilinablackdress · 31/12/2018 09:48

Ideally there's only one response to this -
"Fuck off"
Annoys me so much. Well it did, doesn't happen so much once you get older as the arseholes know you're more likely to answer back.
Someone tried the "smile love" with a 70+ acquaintance of mine recently, she went right through him and pretty much chased him down the street 😆

kaytee87 · 31/12/2018 09:50

Arsehole.

When I was 16 a fat, Middle aged man told me I had a fat belly. I was a size 6 and my bmi was around 18. I did have body confidence issues though and his remark really stuck in my head. Now I can see him for what he was, a sad bullying man.

As soon as I read it was a girl being criticised for eating I thought I bet anything it's a man. It's the entitlement over young women bodies (which clearly only exist to look good to them).

RosemarysBush · 31/12/2018 10:00

FortunesFave 😂
And, yes, her older brother did say “Fuck off”.

I had this in John Lewis (just for context I'm a size 8) an older man saw me getting a cake and said I shouldn't have it or I'd get fat, I replied that I hopes so as I was fattening up for Christmas and then walked off. He ended up behind me in the queue to pay and 'joked' to the assistant that I'd pay for his tea and cakes - I said I would have but I wouldn't want him to get fat. His wife laughed a lot.

iseecabbages · 31/12/2018 10:26

Can’t believe that other thread was removed, it brought up some interesting ideas about how age and build can shield you from the consequences of your appalling behaviour.
Anyhow I’ve had this from members of a certain sex, not sure why they think they can comment on my weight and give dietary advice about my food preferences. A particularly memorable one was from a rotund, non specified sex and age individual, informing me I would get fat from eating a bread roll with my soup. Look in fucking the mirror matey.

MikeUniformMike · 31/12/2018 10:31

He just wanted to draw attention to himself.

Willow2017 · 31/12/2018 10:52

These wankers only say it to.women or young girls as they would shit a brick with the reply they would get from a 6' muscled weigtlifter.

It makes them feel good to put women in thier place
We are supppsed to conform to thier ideal 'look' and 'size' and demure to thier important opinions.

They are sad idiots full of thier own importance but women shouldnt have to put up with it.

We should have a thread for glorious put downs others have used so we can all use them.😀

Mumshappy · 31/12/2018 10:57

I hope your DD didnt take it personally. A very overweight man commented on my weight days after id had ds. I think its a power trip but its not a good feeling nevertheless

footballmum · 31/12/2018 10:58

How old were they OP? This may be relevant as they may be in the early stages of dementia Grin

hypnotizzz · 31/12/2018 10:59

I'd forgotten about this, appalling that it still happens.

Now I'm 49, slightly plump and less willing to please, random males no longer offer me lifestyle tips, wonder why?

Omgineedanamechange · 31/12/2018 11:04

My stock answer to if you eat that you’ll get fat type comments is “well you’re clearly speaking from experience”

pictish · 31/12/2018 11:08

He’s blatantly and arrogantly objectifying her as being the sum total of what she looks like for the purpose of pleasing men.
They exist. Absolute wanker.

Belindabauer · 31/12/2018 11:10

Yep he definitely would not have said it to a 6 foot male, definately.
I think women need to be far less passive.
A stock reply of "fuck off you paedophile!" Might make him think twice in future.
oh and I don't care if he is or isn't a peodophile, people like this need to be shocked into thinking They can behave in this way.
It's pure male entitlement.
Dickhead.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 31/12/2018 11:14

Footballmum- aren't the early stages of dementia hilarious? Well worthy of a grinning emoji.
Reported for utter fucking despicable cuntish behaviour.

flumpybear · 31/12/2018 11:40

I was at work and I bought a
Sandwich and crisps at
The hospital shop. I noticed in the queue that a six pack of crisps were almost the same price as a single pack so swapped as I thought I'd store the rest in my drawer. Which I often do, I don't eat crisps every day so they often last me
A Few weeks - queue bloke saying you can't eat all them today , so explained they'll love in my drawers in my office 'ahh but we both know you'll eat them all today ' .... Shock
Cheeky fucker really upset me

Crudd · 31/12/2018 11:44

Can't believe you referred to the human being in question as 'he'. That makes you just as bad. What does the person's sex have to do with anything? You are a monster and this thread has ruined my life.

NopeNi · 31/12/2018 12:12

I agree crudd. NAMALT you know Wink
