I have raging toothache. Its a broken tooth with i suspect exposed nerve. Its fine during the day and then agony of a night.

Ive had paracetamol and ibruprofen and its not helping (usually does).

What else can i do? My whole face hurts.

I know i need a dentist but im beyond terrified. Not that they will hurt me but just of them looking in my mouth which is in a terrible state from years of no dentist. Im scared they will bollick me. I also have severe anxiety anyway.

Is it a hot flannel or cold that will help?

Just come back from the dentist with ds who has been sobbing with pain for two days. The dentist was amazing! He really explained what he was doing and why, and gave ds different options to go away and think about, whilst he took antibiotics.

Please go, they will not judge, they will just want to help you. Good luck OP X

You have two options
1 learn to live with the pain, which will only get worse
2 get a dental appointment through 111 - the dentist will remove the tooth and the pain will go away
I know which option I’d go fir

May I share my discovery with you - i had bad toothache before christmas with a long time rumbler and thought I’d have to have an extraction Christmas Eve. I have a bottle of Lugol’s Iodine, i take two drops daily, and in desperation put a few drops in a tiny amount of water and kind of held it to the painful tooth by tilting my head... and it was instantly gone. And has stayed gone!!!! I felt a little something over christmas and did it again and now all is peaceful. I’m very very happy to have found that out! I hope youre not still suffering OP.
