To think I've done enough?

We messed up a thank you message to DF and Dads fiancé.

DD didn't see them on Christmas but they had sent presents. Lovely gifts, so I got her to record them a video message first thing to say thanks. Sent to dad.

He replied back and said 'could you send one to fiancé as she bought and wrapped gifts' which we did at 11am.

All good so far, then I got a text from my dad last night saying his partner was really hurt that DD didn't say thanks to her in the message. I re watched the original message and it was true, she had said 'thank you grandad for the lovely presents'

So obviously I felt guilty and said that we had sent an individual on to dads fiancé. But he said that she was hurt and we should apologise.

So I called her, and she didn't pick up. Called her again and she didn't pick up. Spoke to dad who said she was available and should call again. Again she didn't pick up (I am assuming they are together).

So I text her saying sorry, didn't realise DD hadn't said anything etc and that I know she buys and wraps gifts.

And radio silence. So AIBU to say that I know I messed up and have tried to make amends but I don't know what I can do else eat this point?

Oh god. She's said thanks. You said thanks.

What do they want. Blood.

All sounds a bit dramatic. But then mine just text to say thank you. No.need for sky writing and credits like a movie.

Send a card if u must.

Oh ffs she’s a grown woman who needs to get a fucking grip.

Your dad’s fiancée not you OP

HannahnotAgnes · 27/12/2018 10:30

Agree with the others - you've said thanks so that should be enough! Is she trying to cause a rift between you & your dad? That's the only reason I can see for her behaviour.

You have done enough, (and more than many would).

Don’t waste any more headspace on someone who wants to spoil Christmas for themselves and those around them by taking offence in the manner in which a child said thank you.
