Sanitary towels (probably TMI)

Since having my twins (2nd pregnancy) last year I’ve found tampons uncomfortable. I can always feel them there and I don’t like the sensation.

I tried a mooncup but after several months and countless questions it was not working out.

As a result I’ve switched to towels, the problem is that I find it all so messy. I’ve bought long length towels but still the blood finds it’s way onto my underwear (often barely touching the towel at all). I’m apparently too fat to buy special period underwear, is there any other magic solution? I feel like such an idiot not being able to manage this and it’s really embarrassing having to ask for advice but here I am.

Have you tried cloth pads? I find them more reliable than single use ones

Do you use the ones with wings?

TinselandToblerones · 26/12/2018 12:20

I do use wings.

I’ve considered cloth pads, they’re quite an outlay though and I wasn’t sure how they’d be better. It’s be good if anyone else has any reviews of them.

I use JamSponge and Cloth Sanitary Protection (CSP).

I can't always put anything up there, but I find the CSP very good, they're a lot less irritating than disposables and depending on which make you go with, they're shaped to work better.

Which tampons do you use? Some Tampax expands in the length and I feel them poking down. Lillets expands widthways and don't feel as if they are going to fall out.

Which pads have you tried? Dd likes big kotex ones rather than the thinner kind

I wear night towels back to front so the longer bit is at the front as my boood seems to ‘seep’ upwards and gets on the front of my underwear rather than underneath.

I have the same issues OP, where I have been pregnant or BF I haven't had a period in so long I forget what a faff it is!

posthistoricmonsters if you don't mind me asking can you go swimming using the jam sponge?
