He's just thrown up spectacularly, and we're due to see his parents today after being alone at Christmas. We've had a lovely day and he wasn't showing any signs of being ill before he went to bed.

As I've been cooking and he's been puppy wrangling today I love drunk less but I think I he's had 3 x beers, wine, champagne a whisky and a cigar and been sick. Is that enough to make you sick? I don't drink really so don't know. Can we go to his parents tomorrow or are we better off staying here alone? I've only got tomorrow off Christmas as well as today so I'll be upset if we can't see his family :( or is it not worth the risk? We've had a lovely day I'm upset he's ruined it by Drinking too much :(. Honestly it was the best Christmas ever, until now. He said he'd deal with the bathroom but it's so disgusting I'd rather not leave it! 🤢Envy not jealousy

What do we do? If we stay here and he's hungover I'm giving him the puppy at 4
Am when she's awake and wanting to play!!

That would make me puke. It could just be general over-indulgence though.

go on your own and see the family and when they ask where he is tell them the truth, he got so drunk he was vomiting and is now far too hung over to come out and see his family, and why should you miss out on seeing them because he was a dickhead

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 26/12/2018 05:42

Bleurgh. As I was reading I thought to myself “that’s a hell of a mix”. And then you added in the cigar.

I think I’d have vomited as well.

Wallywobbles · 26/12/2018 05:57

The cigar will have been the culprit unless he smokes them a lot.

scarylea · 26/12/2018 08:03

I was going to say it’s probably the cigar too.

SushiMonster · 26/12/2018 08:21

+1 for the cigar making him sick

SoyDora · 26/12/2018 08:23

Why are you frustrated with him? He probably didn’t intend to be sick!
It will be obvious this morning whether he’s genuinely ill or if it was a one off for over indulgence.

confusedandemployed · 26/12/2018 08:27

Over the course of 10+ hours on Christmas Day I don't think that's a huge amount of alcohol or that he's mixed his drinks more than most did yesterday.
If he's not used to cigars that could have done it, but I'd have thought he'd have vomited straightaway. If it was a few hours later I'd think it more likely to be a bug or something he ate.

confusedandemployed · 26/12/2018 08:28

Although I suppose the quantity of alcohol will depend on how much wine / fizz he had

CaptainsYuleLog · 26/12/2018 08:33

Half that would make me puke.

NewYoiker · 26/12/2018 10:00

It was pretty much after straight after the cigar 🤢 grim!

That’s a fair amount of booze (I don’t drink so probably not sure) but the wine and whisky is enough I think. Always made me chuck up, my grannie always said “never mix the grape and the grain”. Add the cigar, no wonder he spewed.

ThanksForAllTheFish · 26/12/2018 10:10

Mixing drinks is a bad idea - add in the cigar and it’s no wonder he was sick. I don’t think it sounds like excessive amounts of alcohol (if he drinks regularly as people do build up a tolerance- maybe a bit much of he isn’t really a drinker). I would guess he will be fine once he’s slept if off. Maybe a bit of a sore head that would be sorted out with some paracetamol, a couple of pints of water and a good breakfast.
