Family traditions... we don’t go out Christmas Eve, and don’t recieve guests. It’s our day, just the four of us to do Christmas baking and crafts etc.

Husband announced this morning he needed to go Argos as he hadn’t collected the lampshade I’d reserved for him to collect for his mum.

Meh. Not ideal but ok.

Christmas morning our tradition is to open stocks with the DC in our bed, then come downstairs. In the past we’ve themed our stockings, such as you can’t spend £5 on the total contents. This year we hadn’t. He knew I went out yesterday to get last few stocking fillers for him and dc.

Just filling stockings for him and dc and he says he’d forgotten to get me anything for my stocking. I said oh well, Tesco closes in 45 mins, off you go! He moaned about not going out on Christmas Eve, but kids are in bed and he’s already broken that rule once today! He looked at me like I was b@ts**t crazy as he drove off!
So... AIBU to make him go buy me some stocking stuffers?!?

Nope he’s a twat and should have done it without prompting. How hurtful.

(Mine went out at 3pm to do mine and came back late for dinner 🙄)

Is your Tesco still open?!

I need icing sugar but all of our supermarkets seemed to close at 6pm tonight. Even the usually 24 hour ones.

Anyway no, it's not mean to send him out to do what he forgot - although it'd be more meaningful if he did it by himself!

The only Tesco's still open are expresses and have very little that would be any good for a stocking unless you are wanting an overload of chocolate in which case you'll get it for half the price on boxing day...

But you’ll just end up with generic things you don’t particularly want? So why ask him to go?
I understand you have the tradition ( I’ve been prewarned that I’m not getting a present this year as we’ve had several big expenses in the last few months) but logically it doesn’t make sense to waste money ina last minute panic.

Our big superstore is open until 10pm
