I would freeze it personally whatever the date said. However I don't suppose you can do that or you wouldn't be asking!

Well if the date is the 28th and nobody buys it, then you go in and buy it on the 27th, that’s no different to it having been sat in your fridge for the same length of time? I do my weekly shop on a Monday and always buy the meat for next weekend inc whole chickens.

The chickens in Lidl today are dated use by 26th, so yes you should be ok.

I purchased an M&S Turkey Breast (to feed 8) the other day. It says use by 26th.

I've bought one today with date of 28th...... its in the fridge. Tbh if i had got it from Tesco I might have been more wary.... had a few chicken things there in the past that have been off before their use by date . Hoping Sainsburys is better!
