To ask about changes in periods?

I will firstly apologise because yes I am posting for traffic.

Also because I know most of you aren't Doctors, but my concern doesn't warrant visiting the gp so I'm curious about others experiences.

I'm 34, always had normal regular periods, never massively heavy but I'd have 2-3 days of heavyish bleeding..

However for the past year or so my periods have got much lighter. They also seem to take a few days to start as in I get spotting for 2-3 days, then one 'normal' day of bleeding then spotting as it tails off.

My most recent period is virtually non existent.

I'm worried I'm going through early menopause or something.

There are literally no reasons why my periods should stop, I'm in otherwise good health.

Have you changed your lifestyle at all? My periods have got a lot lighter since I started exercising every day (I'm in my 30s).

Literally could have written this myself... I am only 26 though! My periods have started starting later - i.e. would usually start Tuesday and finish Sunday. Now start Thursday and finish Saturday. This mkst recent one was so light i didn't even need to use sanitary products :-/

I have this issue but I'm 40.

I would see your GP so he/she can work out what is going on.If it is early Menopause then bone health needs protecting but it may be something else.

You could very well be in the beginnings of peri-menopause, and this can last for many years. See your ob/gyn.

itsalmostfriday · 20/12/2018 01:13

Are you using any synthetic contraception?

itsalmostfriday · 20/12/2018 01:15

I'm using a calendar / tracking method for almost 3 years now and I've noticed for about 2 months in 12 I don't ovulate

When you don't ovulate, you get a really light but dark coloured stain. Couldn't even call it a bleed

I was also worried about pre menopause but I think this is pretty normal

I'm 37

I would see a GP, but are you on any contraceptive method, get you're iron levels checked?
