To ask which amazon echo product you would buy?

Simply as the title says... looking for a Christmas present for my DH and am considering one of these.

Anyone have any advice on which one to get?

We have an echo, echo dot and new generation echo dot and I think it depends on the size of your room because the sound quality is quite different between them.

We have the echo in our lounge which is a lounge diner so approx 17'x12' and it is perfect here. If I was going to recommend any of the three I would recommend this one because the sound quality is better than the other two we own.

The old style echo dot I had in the kitchen originally, but the sound quality is a fair bit lower and I often struggled to hear it if I was out there crashing about with pots and pans. So we moved it into our bedroom and use it as an alarm clock and to stream music on the treadmill. For the kitchen we bought the new echo dot which has sound quality in between the two. It is perfect for our tiny kitchen but wouldn't be loud enough for our living room.

If at any point you might want to use smart bulbs etc, consider the Echo Plus as it has a hub built in rather than having to buy a separate one
