To laugh at DP and not let him live this down?

So we did gifts with a couple of friends yesterday. DP apparently was only able to find one color/type of wrapping paper in the closet (even though I know there were several) and wrapped all of his gifts in one color. He THOUGHT he would remember who’s gift was who’s based on size. Well that’s where things went horribly wrong.

He had bought me a nice lingerie set for Christmas. Well imagine his best friend surprise when he opened his gift of.... you guessed it, a lingerie set! Cue hysterical laughter from all of us.

Nope. Not letting him live that down for a very very long time.

No. I would mention it at the dinner table over Christmas dinner every year for the next 20 years at least.

Parcel raffle every year henceforth, I might even put one he’s wrapped in a larger box and wrap in the same paper for a giggle. Also next year’s Christmas card might be his pal’s top half in a boudoir style shot draped in the lingerie if mate has OH : asking nicely for their co operation Grin [santa]

Wow I never knew this was a thing. We keep all presents until Christmas regardless of when we're seeing the giver. Who knew Xmas Smile

My family are renowned for this. Do it every year. I've given them stickers and tags in an attempt to prevent it - when the Dc were younger it was awful because they'd open something and then get it snatched off them and given to someone else. Last year dad put a pen mark on each present - why that was an option rather than oh I dunno, use an initial - and he was so proud of himself because he'd got a bit of paper that had the pen mark and the name of the recipient on it. I took a photo of it, which was great because by 11.45am he'd lost the bloody bit of paper and had no idea who had the red circle presents and who was the blue star.

@reedbunting - really? I would be pretty disappointed if the receiver didn't open it in front of me, same with birthday parties where kids don't open the presents, makes me a little sad in fact haha.

Why don't people just buy tags yu stick on and write people's names on? They're normally right there next to the wrapping paper in shops.

It would never occur to me not to put tags on presents
