Started in sept had 1 day off with cold/flu symptoms in Nov and again 2 weeks ago- (I work part time thurs is my last day of week so both days off were a thurs).
Basically been full of a cold and cough since start Nov back to dr today and sent for bloods as lymph nodes all inflamed (been in contact with glandular fever case- but think this is unlikely) and for chest x Ray at hosp to check For pneumonia I suppose?
I feel like death got tomo and thurs to go would it look terrible if I rang in sick for day 3/4 especially just before Xmas break?

It’s a scoring system a lot of companies use to work out how much time you’ve had off. Each day is given score. Once it hits a certain level it triggers a meeting to discuss your absence, anything that needs to be implemented to help you stay in work, or worst case looking at whether you are suitable to work in the company. That’s it in short basically.

OP better to going in poorly and let them send you home, than call in sick, as horrible as it is. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Hope you feel better as the day goes on OP, or that someone sends you home. At least you sound like you have a decent amount of time off over the festive period so you have the opportunity to rest.

Go in, tell them that you’d not normally come in this unwell but are worried about failing probation.
Be honest re it’s just a bad run
Offer to take work home (even if you know that’s not really possible)

It’s all a bit daft but work is often about playing the game. Be honest. Show them how Ill you are -and how willing / reliable you are

Worst case they might extend probation.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

If you end up feeling too shite and have to tell them you need to go home, acknowledge you know it doesn't look good as you are new and you are mortified to have to leave again due to sickness in a new job, it's unusual for you etc etc. That may put their mind at ease that you know this is iffy when they don't have the context of experience of your normal work ethic.
