To ask what you wear every day?

What do you all wear on a day to day basis? Im 12 weeks PP from my second section and before this pregnancy we moved house and I gutted out my wardrobes, all I really have are work clothes and pjs with a few weekend outfits that I rotate between but they're nothing special - jumpers and jeans and cardis etc.

My mum has given me some money for Christmas so I'm going shopping for something to wear on christmas day and a few bits I can wear when going out during the day with the kids - to mum's and tots and the likes.

I quite like the idea of winter skirts dresses tights and boots but I'm short and dumpy and have a horrendous shelf that's still quite swollen so don't know if it would be the most flattering? There are some gorgeous coloured denim skirts in the shops atm that I would just love to wear!

Short and Dumpty here, too.

Nice leggings and slightly oversize jumpers. Comfy, warm, looks stylish too.

I love winter!

I'm 18 weeks PP and live in leggings, trainers & comfy jumpers. Also short and dumpy. I'm embracing the casual look until I go back to work and have to wear skirts / dresses etc. Plus I am always out walking with the baby so totally practical too. Wear what's comfy - having a newborn is enough effort as it is!

Like....these. Xmas Smile

When I was on mat leave I craved comfort, especially with having to sit on the floor a lot and pushing the pram etc.

I wore lots of leggings or tights with shirt dresses. Also stretchy skinny jeans with a high waist that didn't ride down and a thin jumper. I went for layers rather than chunky jumpers etc, so more cardigans really.

I'm back at work now but my style hasn't really evolved back and i haven't lost the weight I wanted to so that limits me with what I feel comfortable wearing tbh.

I sound so stylish Confused

my work-from-home 'uniform' is jeans or jeggings & a stripy long T (usually Joules). Pretty much the same day in day out but at least I look OK if I answer the door/nip out. In summer the jeans get swapped for shorts (Matalan do the best!) and the T for a short sleeved one.

Knitted or heavy cotton tunic dresses are nice with jeggings. My DIL is quite plump and short and she looks great in this combination, plus the odd cardi. I think she favours White Stuff and New Look.

Also short, also dumpy, but I get lots of compliments on my clothes (maybe people are just feeling sorry for me).

I wear:

Loose-fitting jersey cocoon shift dresses from Hush with tights and kitten heel/pointed toe ankle boots (I hem them so they're THIS close to being too short, otherwise they look frumpy).

Slim (not skinny, that looks dated) jeans rolled up a bit to show socks, laced slightly rugged ankle boots, slight cropped boxy jumpers over slim vests (so my belly doesn't show if I raise my arms)

And shirt dresses, just above knee length, are my 100% go-to. I have about 20 of the fuckers! I have a go-to pattern and I make a new one whenever I find a nice fabric I like. I wear them with the sleeves rolled up, nice earrings, red lipstick, and I feel like I can take on anything.

This style of warehouse dresses are quite flattering, I wear them with tights, boots & a nice biker jacket or warm wool coat.

OP what age are you? I just remembered Joe Browns which is great for 20- and 30-somethings, and perfect for your figure. I'm too old now, but their tunics are fab!

Allthewaves · 18/12/2018 16:19

Dresses - knee length, pref wrap style to hide the tummy with leggings or tights.

Tunics with jeggings.

Have lovely high boots from evans that make me feel glam

DwangelaForever · 18/12/2018 16:44

@wink1970 I'm 28! Will have a look online and see! (Although my height makes me look about 17 haha)

I like White Stuff, Sea Salt and De Siguel.

I'm interested that people wear dresses for everyday, I would think it makes a lot of washing as I wear jeans and interesting patterned tops, but just wash the tops.

MsSquiz · 18/12/2018 16:57

I'm 5'1" and a size 14, and since November have been working from home. I tend to live in black leggings and long jumpers/sweatshirts or black tights and jumper dresses.

If I'm out and about through the day I tend to wear skinny jeans, a vest top and shirt with ankle boots or the jumper dresses and tights with ankle boots

I get a lot of basics from H&M, jeans from New Look, shirts and jumpers from New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Oasis & H&M, dresses (often skater style) from Oasis, New Look and DP

DwangelaForever · 18/12/2018 17:01

@dragoncave before I had kids I wore dresses to work every day I just threw everything in the was on a Friday night same amount of washing with my tops!

I wear dresses everyday. I can’t stand trousers . They are also easier, one piece is an outfit whereas skirts and trousers you got to get a top too.

Lazypuppy · 18/12/2018 17:13

After i had my baby i would just wear joggers and tshirts at home and jeans whrn i went out. Same as before and during my pregnancy

Jebbs · 19/12/2018 22:40

Maybe A-line or "skater" dresses? I'm short with a bit of a belly and tend to find that skims nicely over the problem areas. Even helped hide a pregnant belly in the early months!

YourHandInMyHand · 20/12/2018 10:03

I'm very into dresses with tights or leggings and a cardi at the moment. 37 weeks pregnant even maternity jeans don't feel comfy and I'm due a csection soon too so dress and high waisted leggings or tights are super comfy.

I've had lots of "love your dress" type compliments, mine are all from H&M or New Look and have been really good value either by being in the sale or by using a discount offer code.

I also find they wash and dry much more quickly than jeans and t-shirts do too which is handy.
