Any social media guru types there to help me regarding Facebook PLEASE?

Can you help me work something out? I'm helping a friend...he has a facebook business page and also 5 other linked "local pages" related to the same business.

Eg. His business is "Tom's Hire Trucks" and that's his main facebook page but he also has "Tom's Hire Trucks Manchester" "Tom's Hire Trucks Peterborough" and so on.

When he posts on his main page it shows up on all his local ones too...fine. But he can't seem to post on any of his local pages...so he can't do a Manchester-centric post just to appear on his Manc page.

Is that right or is there a way round this?

You are being unreasonable.

There should be an option before posting which page it goes into, for example it’ll say >newsfeed.

You can click on that and different option should show - something like >pages.

Clicking on THAT should give a drop down menu of pages to post to?

Carrot I don't get an option...I just go onto the page "Dave's Trucks" and then I have to click "locations" on the left sidebar to see the options for the local pages....click through to them and there's no "post' option at all...that's only on the main page.

Where would it say "newsfeed"? I'm on a PC.

So I have just attempted this on my own Facebook page - but I also can’t find any of the usual options ?! Normally I would ‘share’ it on my page but it comes up as a post ‘from’ the Page.

It may be worth messaging Facebook about this ? Say something has gone wrong. I’m sorry I can’t be much more help!

It isn’t, but without outing myself it is a verified page separate to my personal profile ! :)

It is most likely a setting he has put on it which means you can't post. Not sure what though, sorry

They are definitely completely different seperate pages?

Also, he is definitely an admin on the pages? Did he set them up himself?

When he goes onto the local pages, does it say:

"You are posting, commenting, and liking as (your name)"

If it does, you should be able to change it to the page rather than the personal account and then you should be able to use the page normally.

Does he have a main page and child pages? One for each location?

You got to be signed into them individually.
