To want internet installed in my new house!?

I moved in to a new build property thursday. It has just been built.
I have tried to get internet installed and no one can do it as the service ain't available.

I was told bt had installed all the lines but they can not activate them.

I would of thought it would all be activated before I moved in.

Has anybody had the same issue?

Very common with new builds I'm afraid...

We had. Moved into a new house in September. Told by BT we would be connected in January.

After many spitting out dummy’s (us), we eventually got connected November 1st.

A very stressful experience. You just have to contact them frequently. And become that customer that no-one wants to answer the phone too.

Good luck.

We had 6 months without internet in our new build. Really annoying.

Internet?!

What next, takeaway delivered to your door?!

(Yanbu, internet should be availabile everywhere).

Do you know the reason why it has not been activated, is there no capacity at the cab or the local exchange?

You could look at satellite internet, but it tends to be expensive.

I can't even get my food shop delivered yet as it's not available in my area, I thought it was stressful enough moving lol.

I will phone bt again tomorrow

Yanbu.

There's a village near me where the new estate is over 5 years old and they still don't have Internet! Or I think maybe a small number now do but no capacity for anyone else so it's one in one out.

Governoress86 · 16/12/2018 19:02

It is ridiculous, I don't mind waiting a little bit for it as long as they give me a date of when it will be done.
