Hickey?

After a rare baby-free night last night, I've woke up with hickeys on my neck.
I've argued with DP about this as I find it so embarrassing for an adult to have hickeysConfused and I have to go to a fairly new and professional job tomorrow.
He's in a mood as he claims it wasn't intentional and I'm being unreasonable to be so pissed about it.
AIBU??!

Side note: does anyone have any ways of effectively covering these???Envy

I thought branding too. Look up camouflage on YouTube.

Bellabutterfly2016 · 16/12/2018 10:46

I'd be going mental what kind of grown adult does that anyway?????
Letting you go to a new job with a "tramp stamp" is in-forgivable

ernjas · 16/12/2018 10:46

I definitely don't think he was 'branding' me, that's definitely not a worry of mine!Grin especially because my new job consists of all girls, I don't think he's too worried either!! Grin

@Stephisaur thank you! he's completely insistent that he was only heavily kissing and got a bit carried away after a few drinks and our first night off in ages but I'm still not happy with it! I've got over the anger of it now and just looking for ways to fix it!

@Bellabutterfly2016 pretty much exactly what I said when we argued, I thought I was too harsh for pointing out that we aren't 15 years old and actual grown adults so what was he thinking!

'Tramp stamp'😂

Schmoobarb · 16/12/2018 10:50

YANBU, I’d be absolutely fucking raging, how vile.

Polo neck jumper and/or a scarf

MarthasGinYard · 16/12/2018 10:55

Practically speaking I'd conceal with a good cam concealer, wear high neck or scarf.

ernjas · 16/12/2018 10:55

Good to know I'm not being unreasonable!

He's apologised since saying I was being dramatic, think he just got unrighteously defensive after I went full angry on him.

Currently looking for a turtleneck and ready to go and pick up some arnica cream.

Sorry - honestly clueless about this. I'm dark-skinned and I've always wondered why people have such a bad reaction to hearing about or seeing hickies...

Hickies are usually done whilst having sex. I suppose they are frowned on because it is like an announcement that you have been having/have had sex. Most people also believe it looks unattractive and, as others have pointed out, it is definitely a way of marking territory for some people.

Cooella · 16/12/2018 11:17

Agree with Display. You don't 'accidentally' give hickies and its quite a coincidence he did this before you started your new job. I'd be livid.

MiaowMix · 16/12/2018 12:01

I'm old enough to call them love bites. And I think this is really grim and embarrassing. I haven't had one since I was a teenager, do adults really do this?Confusedinteresting.Hmm
I also don't get how you didn't notice.
Anyway. Concealer plus polo neck I would have thought.
