To think the brush should have been cleaned?

I've been going to my hairdresser for years, never had a problem and always tip etc. Today I felt a little disheartened (and slightly paranoid as I think I have contracted headlice as my scalp is unusually itchy) knowing standards have slipped! I had to ask if she could remove the previous persons hair from the brush before using it on me.

AIBU to think that the brush should have had the hair removed from the previous person and sprayed with that barbicide stuff before being used on me?

Probably but other peoples hair touching yours isn't going to hurt you. It's just dead keratin. Though I don't care if I find hair in my food so probably not a good judge.

I think you’re being a bit u.

I am the worst person to judge. I HATE going to salons. Haven't been to one in 15 years. I distrust all of them. My husband trims my hair.

Yuck. I don’t care if it’s only hair, it’s not MY hair! My hairdresser cleans and sterilises the brushes, before using them on the next client and I assumed that they all did.

If you had contracted head lice today I don't think you'd be itching yet

Alfie190 · 16/12/2018 04:51

Yes brush should be cleN. But you are being ridiculous to assume that the previous person has headlice!

Thanks for the replies all...I only thought it because my head was so itchy!! She used the same products as always...maybe it was a 'in my head' thoughts of itching and that's why I'm itching if that makes any sense Grin
