To think we should do a MN charity cookbook

I've got Top Bananas but with it's sensible and well tested recipes it lacks the crazy hit and miss randomness I enjoy in a charity cookbook where people just submit their family recipes that may be amazing or rubbish. So I think there could still be a place for a MN charity book.

It could be done as an ebook to save on printing costs (I have no idea how to do this but someone may know) and there are over 1000 pedants on here just waiting to proof read it, which they will do whether we like it or not.

I have come up with a few ideas for recipe categories so far;

High protein breakfasts for the DC
Cutted up pears- toddler recipes
Retro favourites from childhood
Naice party dishes
Wanky Christmas gifts to make
Isn't that a lot of sugar? - desserts and baking
Vanity size 12 in M&S - weight loss recipes
No-one needs these- snacks
Never let your laundry get darked on - Household hints and tips

Would anyone else like to do this? Any suggestions for how to set it up?

You forgot 42 separate recipies from one chicken.

I’d pay just to see how a Mumsnet Magic Chicken can feed a family for a week.

1 Chicken = 1 Meal in this house.

Yes we should definitely have a magic chicken section. Also maybe the frugaleers could contribute a few frugal recipes.

If there was a print version we could have a Brexit category with a perforated section of continental recipes for leavers to chuck out.

Haha I love this thread! What about Hummus where the heart is for all those trendy mums?

Destinysdaughter · 14/12/2018 23:46

That is a great idea! I’ve still got an exercise book that my mum wrote down her recipes in, would be a good way to pass them on!
