To think 3 hours is not a slight delay and to complain

I had an appointment at Marie Stopes today, I'd not been able to eat beforehand due to anaesthetic, I have awful morning sickness and felt like a zombie. I had prayer beads thrown at me outside and felt generally awful and so nervous, the waiting room was tiny and so packed but I assumed it wouldn't be too long and I just wanted it over with.
Long story short after waiting for 2 hours (one of the girls appointments was even before mine) I went and asked how much longer it would be and was informed that it was lunch at the minute and then it would be another hour afterwards as 2 others were before me.
I politely requested to rebook as I didn't have childcare for that long and the woman spoke to me like I was a naughty school girl! She said 'well is there nothing you can do its a bit late to be cancelling' I explained that no I wasnt expecting a 3 and a half hour wait. She said 'theres nothing I can do about that kid, the doctors have to eat'. I was a bit taken aback by the 'kid' and the fact thay she was implying I was against the doctors having a lunch break and not the fact that Id been waiting 2 hours already with not so much as a head popped around the door to inform us of a delay. I just smiled and left after rebooking my appointment which was also a nightmare as she only gave me the choice of one day even when I asked if any others were available.

I understand that if there was that much of a delay the woman was probably very stressed but at the same time some people are very vulnerable after making the decision to go to the clinic and she could have really upset someone. So do I complain? I'm swaying towards no as she's only human but DP says she's out of order and could have really hurt someones feelings. WIBU to complain or shall I just leave it?
Sorry for the super rambley post, didn't want to drip feed

I think you should complain. She pretended you had opnions you hadn't stated in order to make you seem unreasonable. That is rude and manipulative.

opinions.

They're only going to running that late if something significant has happened, such as a routine appt becoming an emergency.

Did you mishear the kid comment? It's an odd term to call someone.

OohBabyBabeh · 13/12/2018 18:04

I'd complain, that's not a reasonable waiting time whatsoever.

Monkeynuts18 · 13/12/2018 18:19

Yes I’d complain.

Also find the thing about the prayer beads quite concerning. You shouldn’t have had to put up with that either.

YANBU, I think sometimes the people responsible for managing healthcare appointments struggle so much with there simply being more patients than doctors/clinic time available that we sometimes forget that the patients have lives outside of their appointments and don't appreciate being fucked about.

I'm sorry this has happened to you Flowers

Thanks everyone for your replies, I think I might leave feedback but put more emphasis on the fact that the wait time was ridiculous and there wasn't even any notice/warning and the lack of flexibility when rebooking. @monkeynuts18 I was shocked too I didn't expect it all, it was an old lady and she tried to hand them to me but I obviously swerved. There was a middle aged man with her carrying a huge cross it was quite intimidating

Ypu would be unreasonable NOT to complain. Not so much about the beyond ridiculously long wait, which of course is no small thing, but her disgusting power trippy attitude.
She might have been having a bad day. However the second you enter into your work place. You leave your shit at the door. We've all got our personal monsters that we're battling.
You obviously were not the for a fucking day out or the company were you.
