Hello

Posting here mostly for traffic... late at night and can’t sleep, just feel so worried and a bit panicky about lots of things. So please help me focus on some good things to stop me being sad and maybe even get to sleep?

So what made you happy today? A success you’ve had, a funny or nice thing you’ve seen or been part of, or just an interesting fact - and so on!

Thanks for keeping me company in my sleeplessness

X

I have no unread emails in my work inbox. Celebrate the small victories, too.

CoughLaughFart · 13/12/2018 00:45

My friend who was convinced she’d made a fool of herself at a job interview got offered the role Smile

DeusEx · 13/12/2018 00:45

That’s a big victory @paxillin! Thanks for replying too :)

I've just got back from watching DS1s Christmas concert. He had to dance and DH and I were Shock - never knew he had it in him!

I took my team for Christmas lunch today to thank them for their hard work - nobody complained at me!

Sorry you're feeling anxious OP, do you suffer generally or are you worried about something in particular?

Pinkkahori · 13/12/2018 00:48

My feet were really warm and cosy when I woke up! I live in a very cold house so toasty feet are rare. It made me cheerful for the whole day.

Bubba1234 · 13/12/2018 00:51

I’m restless also. Im not worrying or that but I’m trying to pinpoint why I have so much energy these days iv started to eat less meat and more veg maybe that’s it who knows..
Are you ok op? Anything you wanna chat about?

Ah ha, has DS1 discovered a secret talent...?

Yes, I suffer from anxiety and depression. It’s been pretty under control recently but December is always pretty bad as Christmas was just misery for most of my childhood. Add that to a couple of very major life changes in the next month and it’s a recipe for insomnia! Thanks for well wishes anyway

I had a sleep in the middle of the day, very refreshing.
Sleep is my favourite thing.

YouBoggleMyMind · 13/12/2018 00:53

It's my son's birthday today (13/12) and he is 1. He nearly died when he was 3 weeks old so to get him to 1 is the best feeling.

Bubba1234 · 13/12/2018 00:55

Deusex thanks for sharing x
I’m an anxiety sufferer no depression and I’m finding I’m getting anxiety for no reason these days now it’s very mild but it’s strange as mine is specific to certain situations or people. I’m taking a guess it’s the lack of sunlight. I’m so looking forward to the bright evenings already!
I hope you are ok we are here anytime xx

Ireallywantmylifeback · 13/12/2018 00:59

I've had a migraine for the past two days but felt a bit better today so put my Christmas bedding on 🙂

DeusEx · 13/12/2018 01:01

Thanks @Bubba. You’re probably right there’s an element of SAD in my sad. I just feel lonely and worried, and it’s hard to tell in the middle of the night what is reasonable and what is just anxiety talking. Everything is just too much - Christmas and memories of childhood psych abuse (which lasted for decades), work worries, worrying about being a bad friend - but also just being physically a bit ill which might just be making normal low level worries into a major thing. How do you deal with this? How do you stop worrying and sleep, and how do you assure yourself you have friends who like you and don’t hate you?

Thanks for your kind words.

The cat spent fifteen minutes trying to sit on my head rather than my lap. I had a wander around today in a park which was just quite nice. I managed to put some fairy lights on the mantlepiece that didn’t look like someone had sicked them up. OP I’m sorry you’re not feeling great right now xxxx

Herja · 13/12/2018 01:04

The wind. It was my boyfriend's funeral today, there was no wake. I am 500 miles from home. I walked around where he lived after the service and the wind there felt filled with him. I feel calm again, I have said goodbye, I could feel him all around me. I am ready to go home.

user1473878824 · 13/12/2018 01:04

Having seen your last post OP, I just wanted to say: don’t worry about being a bad friend. You’re not. Anyone who gets shitty about it when your low is the bad friend and not you. You’re allowed to sack people off for a bit.

My happy thing today was listening to this song () whilst snuggled up with my lovely three month old. Life always feels so rushed with chasing after my (also lovely but hopelessly energetic!) toddler that I sometimes worry the little one isn't getting the time and attention he needs. So a few snatched moments with one of my favorite songs, gazing at my beautiful baby (who nine months ago we were told might well not make it) felt very special today.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time, OP. Things always feel so much worse for me when I'm tired or ill. Hope you manage to get to sleep soon. Be kind to yourself Thanks

DeusEx · 13/12/2018 01:16

My cat has come and snuggled up next to me - she’s made herself little spoon. That can be a nice thing anyway :)

Herja · 13/12/2018 01:23

That is definitely a nice thing! My lovely cat sleeps with me like that. Shame he's a pillow hog...

BitOfFun · 13/12/2018 02:17

I got through a dental appointment today- was really pleased with myself!

InSightMars · 13/12/2018 02:24

We got gift boxes from our employers today, baskets with wine and fancy chocolates and snacks for everyone. Everyone will be getting a bonus cheque this coming Friday too. It's nice to feel appreciated.

A tiny bit of gloating too - a troublesome employee who has seemed to be coated in Teflon for several months now finally got pulled up for bad attitude and behaviour when caught in the act by the actual Boss today. It was nice to see the smug smirk wiped off one face (which will find itself in last-chance saloon another department tomorrow) and relieved smiles on the faces of everyone else in the current department.

I'm sorry you're feeling so down OP, I hope it's just temporary and things start looking up for you soon. In the meantime enjoy your snuggle with your cat, life is never totally a wash as long as you have a cat.
