Dd1 had a tutor last year and this year before GCSEs as she was home educated
Just before the exam we booked 2 sessions but the tutor cancelled them ....
Dd then admitted she hadn’t read one of the books and any of the poems they’d only been concentrating on the Shakespeare text ??? Cue massive panic as only had 48 hrs till an exam 😳
After results came out I saw a few of her posts about how well her students had done and I assumed she may get in touch she didn’t so left it
Bumped into her and she literally couldn’t get away quick enough I did hello tried to start a conversation and she pretty much ran away ???
I’m really confused and I feel like it’s a bit odd? Perhaps she realised she missed a huge chunk of work with dd but I can’t work out why she suddenly cancelled etc, never asked and then clearly didn’t want to speak to me in person ??

She's failed your dd and now is scared of the consequences.

I'm a tutor and if I did this I'd be refunding you in full.

Sorry this has happened.

Usually students or their parents are the ones who get in touch with the tutor after or on results day, to tell them how they got on and to thanks them. Is there some other way she would be expected to know the outcome? Perhaps as she didn’t hear from you she assumed your dd had done badly and felt a bit awkward about it because of cancelled sessions?

I was very confused at the time she knew exactly which exams etc dd was doing.
Dd said all she ever did was the one book and dd for whatever reason didn’t do the others independently either (lots of other issues there). It was the cancelling of the final 2 sessions....then no contact and then today it’s just confusing
Luckily we had the 48 hours before the exam but it was far from ideal
I’m wondering if she just thought she could get away with taking our money and not doing a proper job from seeing all her posts and the lack of follow up contact I feel we weren’t viewed as ‘proper’ clients??

Could well be that I suppose but after the final 2 cancelled sessions I didn’t feel I wanted to tell her dds results

Then tbh I forgot but today her reaction was just odd ! She really did run away !
