Il start by saying I can't find the right place for this If there even is one...

My mum over the years has become alcohol and drug dependant, I've tried so hard to support her but she doesn't want the help to get better...
She gives me terrible anxiety and having my own three children I can't let her control my emotions any longer.
AIBU to cut her off completely or will I end up with terrible guilt, I fear she's going to die and I won't cope with it the feeling of I should have done more.

It isn't called tough love for nothing. Please be kind to yourself, stop contact and prioritise your children.

Remember:
You didn't cause it
You can't control it
You can't cure it

I'm in the same boat as you and I decided to cut all ties in the summer.

Her constant demands, the regular trips / stays in hospital, me running around after her, lending her money, listening to her constant moaning and woe is me script, her throwing everything I do back in my face, being generally vile and ungrateful towards me and not wanting to help herself.

It was making me ill with stress and worry and had already affected my previous relationship, I'm not going to let her ruin this one.

There's only so much you can help someone and unless they want to help themselves then you're just setting yourself up for misery I'm afraid.

^^This.
You can be sad that things haven't worked out better. You owe no guilt for this, though. You have tried. It is not in your power to solve it unilaterally.
