Took myself to bed at 9pm...still staring at the ceiling at 11pm unable to sleep.
DS (3yo) woke up at 4am thinking it was morning. Spent half an hour convincing him that it wasn’t. DD (1.5yo) woke up as I was going back to bed. Spent 15 minutes getting her back to sleep.
Got back into bed...stared at the ceiling some more...gave up and came on MN.
Now have to get up and showered and into work for 8am.
BRING ME COFFEE!! 😫

It's going to be a long week for me. On shift with someone this week that I hate. They are annoying, bad at their job and rude.

MabelBee · 12/12/2018 06:09

I feel your pain. I have vomiting twins. One last night, one this morning. Ive been up a lot and don't know how I'll get the youngest to school. Even when the vomiting stops I'll be on the loooooong 48 hours off school which will make my autistic child crazy! And kids off school makes the dog crazy.

Being induced today...and I'm scared! Haven't slept in 3 days knowing what's coming....it's going to be a long day 😬

knittedjest · 12/12/2018 06:36

Get your 3 year old one of those clocks that show them when the morning is. His old enough to use one and they are complete lifesavers for early wakers. Until then though, Good luck and be kind to yourself today.

LoopyLou1981 · 12/12/2018 06:39

Good luck babyincoming! I hope it all goes well for you x

Long day here, too. Don't even want to think about the day ahead. So much to do on too little sleep & never enough energy or time.

At least I don't have any sick children to contend with (well I do but he's a teenager & it isn't a vomitting illness).

[flowes] for all the mums out there with vomitting children - I remember those hellish days

I was going to suggest a groclock for DS too. My almost 3 year old has one and she knows that she stays in her room until the sun comes up. Works a treat.

Camomila · 12/12/2018 06:53

DS woke up at 2.15 ish....clearly from a nightmare shrieking 'I don't wanna go dentist, I wanna stay home' jumped out of bed and ran straight into the wall. (Luckily didnt hurt himself) Took me about 20mins of walking around with him to get him back to sleep - he's 2.8 so heavy!!

Luckily he's at nursery today. I've got a job interview later so hopefully I'll 'wake up' soon.

LotsToThinkOf · 12/12/2018 07:00

Yep, I booked in a few work and a few personal appointments on a day a few weeks ago when I was feeling efficient. Looking at my diary it's just exhausting and I've got no time to process the content of each appointment which means a stack of work and follow up emails tonight.

To make things worse I offered a friend a lift to an appointment to a venue which is along a road notorious for long delays and it's for 9am.

On the plus side, my youngest DS gets to come with me today so I don't have to feel guilty leaving him at the nursery he hates.

I hope everyone has a better day than anticipated, especially the poster having the baby today! Aww I wish I could go back to those days.

niceupthedance · 12/12/2018 07:05

I'm at the drs surgery for my 7am appointment and the doctor isn't here yet - need to take the kids to school!

YANBU

DSC are supposed to be in bed by 8pm. Supposed to being the operative word.

They didn't/ wouldn't eat tea at the table
They didn't want a bath
They wouldn't come out of the bath
DSD in and out of bed distrubing DP trying to get DDS to sleep in the other room
DSS 'wasn't tired' and 'was hungry' at 10pm wanting toast 'NOW'
Made said toast - ate two bites and he was 'full' but still 'not tired'
He FINALLY drifted off on my side of the bed around 11:30pm after a 30 minute episode of tantrumming and us trying to do the super nanny technique.

This was after me telling them both they had school plays tomorrow and would be tired in the morning etc etc. Might as well have told the rabbits outside for all the good it did. DP and I were up and now like blue arsed flies getting people back into bed.

We finally got settled in bed just after midnight and guess what? I couldn't blinking sleep!!! I'm full of cold anyway so that doesn't help. I think I got about 2 hours before the alarm went off.

And yes they were grumpy, didn't want to get dressed, didn't want to brush teeth.

I feel your pain.

Baking101 · 12/12/2018 11:06

Of course the person I hate at work is ill, and is coughing everywhere not covering their mouth. So I'm getting ill next. Ew.

babyincoming · 14/12/2018 11:37

So turns out Wednesday was extra long...but baby incoming landed at 1.24 on Thursday morning ❤️

LoopyLou1981 · 14/12/2018 17:03
