This may be long winded.
I was looking for a pink hummer limo for my daughters birthday, it is a very special birthday that she should never of really seen so we are very thankful for chance to celebrate it.
I found a website called pink-limos the links looked amazing.
I rang and booked but they didn’t have a hummer available from any of there suppliers so he said we could have the pink modern town limousine.
Have a look at the site and so I did it was a lovely one so agreed and paid deposit.
Anyway my email confirmation came from a totally different name company regency limos.
So was slightly confused but it’s a sister site apparently also have a third site called limobrokers.
So I notice they listed the company they used for my booking for me to confirm the day before addresses etc
I went on the website to found that the car they had booked was in fact nothing like the car on the pink Lino site, was very old work out and basically looked awful.
I then read reviews which stated that the company have a bad track record of turning up.
So I rang regency limos explained I had booked via pink limos and they said yes that’s us although answering the phone they answer as limo brokers which also has a separate website.
I explained that this was not the car I thought I was getting and that I did not want the car.
They said if I cancelled the booking today because it’s less than 30 days away that I will now have 7 days to pay the rest ( 180 pound ) already pains 80 pound deposit )
I told him that this wasn’t the car the person had “ sold me “ he told me to look at the town cars on the website which I did the pink limo website I had rang.
He said as long as I accepted it was a town pink limo it didn’t have to be the exact one on site ( nothing like it )
If I don’t pay the money then I will be taken to court.

Threaten to report to trading standards. Then report them to trading standards.

So you got a pink limo but not the exact one? And now you don’t want to pay for it?
I feel like I’m missing something here.

Alwaysbekind2014 · 11/12/2018 19:06

yes a completely different limo from a different company that apparently never turns up
The difference in limos was pretty extensive
One modern bright pink limo with the inside interior of lights and gimics for a party
Compared to run down half white / half light pink limo with nothing inside and looks run down / dirty.

What are you missing? It’s quite clear to me she choose a pink limo which she saw and it was nice so accepted then upon confirmation it was a pink one but an old one not as nice....

Report them to trading standard take screenshots of everything

Do they have the terms and conditions on the website that you booked through? Did they state that the car you hire isn't necessarily the one on the site?

Did you pay using a credit card, it might be possible to do a charge back to get your deposit back if the product does not match the description

Does the limo have more than 9 seats? If so they need to have the right licence.

Check here for PSV licence

You would order a a fancy handbag on a website, be delivered a complete different one that is old and not as nice and be like oh but I got a handbag 🙈

They said because the man quoted a cars name “ licoln town car “ it does not matter which one as mind as it is a Lincoln town limo “
Despite him getting the deal closed by pointing out the car is in THEIR website and to look at the Lincoln town limo... which is not the one there other company they are now using is actually providing

How did you pay the deposit?
Report to trading standards!

hidinginthenightgarden · 11/12/2018 19:31

They aren't going to take you to court for £100. Don't pay it!

user1473878824 · 11/12/2018 19:40

That wasn’t meant to be snotty, I promise!

M4J4 · 11/12/2018 19:47

Don't pay the £100!! Take them to small claims court for the £80. Do you have proof of the car you thought you were getting? Take screenshots from the other website asap!
