Glitter in hotel room

I’m staying in a hotel room before a Christmas party tomorrow. I have a sparkly dress that has already dropped glitter everywhere Confused
It’s in the carpet, in the bathroom, on the bedding and is very fine and not the sort that can be easily hoovered up. Everything is ‘shimmery’. AIBU to hooe that I don’t get a room cleaning bill when I leave?

I'd be more pissed off about the dress shedding, hope you didn't pay too much

TokyoSushi · 10/12/2018 22:30

It'll be fine, cleaning bills are for the dirtier type of protests Wink

IWouldPreferNotTo · 10/12/2018 22:30

I doubt you'll get a room charging bill but I'd definitely leave £10 for the cleaners as an apology tip.

Oh dear. I only tried a sparkly dress on on a shop and was covered in it. When I replaced it on the rail I noticed a layer of glitter underneath.

I would be worrying about spreading it all over the party venue and other people.

I don't think the hotel will mind.

How will you wash it?

Streambeam · 10/12/2018 22:37

It was a cheap and impulsive panic-buy! Agree it was a bad call Xmas Blush

Be very careful washing it. Dd put her glittery dress inside out into the wash basket. I didn't realise until I took the washing out of the machine and everything was sparkly, even dh's work shirts and under crackers Grin.

It all came out after a few washes and being hung out to dry on a very windy day.

Glitter... The herpes of the craft world, once you've got it you'll never get rid of it!!!

winteryslippers · 10/12/2018 23:03

How to get rid of glitter:

Hoover
Dry brush
Hoover
Hoover again
Still find it
Burn the house down
Move

How to get rid of glitter mk II:

Dab with flat sheets of slightly damp tissue or kitchen paper. Glitter sticks to paper. Throw paper in bin don't flush down the loo or you will have floating glitter for days

Sparklingbrook · 11/12/2018 06:00

Literally everything you can buy at the moment is covered in glitter.
Pick up a Christmassy ornament or something to look at it-immediately covered in glitter.
And usually wipe some on your face. ☹️

Meh. No worries. It'll all wash out into the oceans eventually.

Leave a tenner tip, OP! (ex chambermaid here)
