I don’t normally interfere in these things but I passed our dog walker in her van in our village this morning. She was very obviously texting and driving. It’s a one road village with kids/old people although it was relatively quiet at the time and she was maybe only doing 20 - there was a car in front dithering and I could see her texting and then glancing up.

It has bugged me. I’m not talking about texting when stationery at lights which I can understand. This was actual steering.

What do I say?

I like her very much and don’t want to ruin our relationship or make things awkward.

I’d have no problem calling her out for it. Next time you see her, just say you were walking past and went to wave at her in her van, but then saw she was texting and driving. Ask if she realises how dangerous that it, especially in a single village road with children around.

I would pluck up the courage to say something. It's illegal and she could kill someone.
