To be fed up that I am unwell again!

About two weeks ago I had cold like symptoms and my ears blocked really badly to the point that my hearing we really muffled. Did all the usual things - paracetomol/sudafed/warm drinks and ear drops. Had 1.5 days off work but then felt be the last week and my ears unblocked.

Today, I am feeling awful again - one we blocked, sort throat, drained etc and sneezing like mad so looks like I have another cold Sad

I'm so fed up of it - work is set to be very busy the next two weeks and I can't take time off really as my exam classes need consistency. I am trying to finish sorting stuff for christmas (shopping done thankfully!) And I feel awful!

I know there's nothing much I can do and there's no point going to the GP as it's viral (and appointments are like hen's teeth anyway!) but I am feeling very sorry for myself.

Is anyone else constantly unwell at the moment or does anyone have any magic cures I havent tried?

Me!
And I'm bloody sick of it.
I feel like trying to get sleeping tablets and putting myself in a coma for a week.
It's very frustrating.

sorry to hear you're the same linsalara it's rubbish!

Some people say peppermint tea works for a cold. I'd recommend vit C.
I have had vomiting and diarrhoea for about a week now. Today I feel like there's a cut in my stomach when I swallow anything.
It's bloody awful being sick constantly with one thing and another.
I seem to get over one thing, have one day's grace, then bang, something else hits.

I'm just getting over a very heavy cold and I am a person who is never ever ill, I had a lot of sinus issues with this one my teeth were hurting face was hurting
I found the neti pot very helpful

It’s shit isn’t it. I was really ill last week got a bit better and now I’m starting to feel ill again. Lots of nasty bugs around at the minute.

Check your vitamin D levels. I had almost permanent cold for months until I had a test and my levels were shocking.
After treatment I haven't been poorly at all.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 09/12/2018 13:17

Yes, me! I’m pregnant so have a low immune system. Just got my 3rd cold in a row - they all seem to be hitting me really hard, then I have 2-3 days where I feel a bit better before the next one comes along Sad

I swear by metatone tonic an oldey but it still helps you get your bounce back.

Also rose hip syrup for vitamin c. Wear gloves when pushing trollies around and out in public, buy at least three pairs and keep washing them.

nutellalove · 09/12/2018 13:39

I also second vitamin D check. Used to be constantly ill, had my levels checked and they were shockingly low. Apparently most people in the U.K. have a vit D deficiency to some extent

nutellalove · 09/12/2018 13:40

PS. Started taking vit d tablets daily and this year have been ill once (and it wasn't that terrible, just a mild cold and I managed to get over it way quicker than I used to pre-vit D)

PumpkinPie2016 · 09/12/2018 13:50

Sorry to hear many others are the same!

Thank you for the suggestions and I will try to get my vit D levels checked!
