To think rain isn't an excuse?

On a coach to the euro tunnel earlier they were meant to check our passports twice, the first time we got off and went through passport control at a service station and the second time they were meant to get on and individually check them after we got got back on and were leaving, except they didn't want to get out because it's raining so we just went through...! ?

Aibu in thinking a bit of rain isn't an excuse for something like this?!

Who was meant to check them? Border force don’t check passports twice at Eurotunnel

I'm not sure who 'they' were exactly, we went inside and had them checked the first time. The second time we were coming to the end of the services near the huge trains the coach drives onto and were told to stay in our seats and they will get on and check them form our seats.

Then "put your passports away they don't want to get out it's raining"

No checks til nearly all the way back!!
Where they searched the caravan.
Did tell them we had enough passengers as it was!!

Were you travelling to France or back to UK? We don’t do outbound checks so you wouldn’t have been checked at Folkestone unless the French border guards were checking and they don’t always.

British checks are done on the French side before you get on the train back. And you would have to get off and go through the hall.
