Inspirational people whose quotes inspire you

I've been given a project at work, which I have to brief our staff on.

The client has asked me to ask my staff including me, the above so they can decide who they want on the project.... im not included in this however they want me to be included for staff moral

However honestly I cannot think of someone who truly inspires me, their is a Turkish actor whose motos on life hit home, but they don't inspire me, as I believe his motos are what makes us decent human beings.

This is corporate BS though, if they’re judging people on the quotes they like - most people will go and look up ‘inspirational quotes’ rather than say they’re actually inspired by Cheryl Cole!

exactly Sowhat, I've even done googled it, but it all feels false, Maya Angela is one of the 1st of inspirational quotes on google

it also does not have to be someone famous, it can be ANYONE but they have to have had a quote that gave you inspiration. Hmm

I genuinely love Maya Angelou, and have read everything she ever wrote so can blab away about her happily if questioned. Make sure you’re staff try to be real about it, in case they get the 3rd degree about why so and so is inspirational. They’ll all have someone even if it turns out to be Freddy bloody flintoff or similar...

What was interesting was how Maya harshly judged the White prostitutes, or dancers. She just saw colour and because they were White, she saw them as having choices. Whereas non educated poor white Women were in no better position than the Black Women.

I've always been a fan of Jackie Chan. His quotes aren't great, but his philosophy on everything is.

There's very little that I find actually inspirational, especially in terms of famous quotes, which mostly smack a bit of cliche in my eyes.

I do quite like Eleanor Roosevelt's "nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent" though.

Most of my favourite quotes come from Malcolm Tucker.

Eleanor Roosevelt has some magnificent ones though, such as the aforementioned one re inferiority and "Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."

As does Liz Taylor. "Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick and pull yourself together" has got me through some dark times.
Also love Annie Oakley "I ain't afraid to love a man. I ain't afraid to shoot him either".

Sowhat, I admire the woman, however it feels like cheating... trying not to be cliche however also need my inspirational someone to also be someone who actually does inspire me...

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

Not a bad way to live your life, I think. Apart from that, lots of Oscar Wilde, which I suspect isn't very corporate Grin

Mind you, as a way of selecting a team, it seems a bit like a cross between an exercise thought up by David Brent, and The Apprentice Grin

It’s a bit wordy but I keep thinking of the importance of every simple decision - since reading it I’ve assessed decisions based on how it fits with who I want to be.

So you know that that first quotation you gave, about how people make you feel, isn't actually hers at all? - it's one of the many that are wrongly attributed to her.
