And what to do!

I’m pregnant. Unplanned. We use condoms religiously. One hasn’t split. I mean I know they aren’t 100% but I thought this was because they split, or weren’t used properly. I just cannot believe that I am pregnant.

Secondly, I am getting married in 7 months. In Ireland. I will be 8 months pregnant. We’ve paid thousands of pounds out on deposits etc.

So what do I do now. Is it pushing it to get married in Ireland at 35 weeks? Do I cancel and then do something small here? Also, whilst this baby is a shock, we’re not unhappy. We planned to have another this time next year anyway so we won’t be terminating or anything like that.

Can you bring the wedding forward?

EwItsAHooman · 03/12/2018 18:01

Ideother bring the wedding forward or push it back a few months, presuming you'd be able to rearrange dates, etc.

Ichbinstoltz · 03/12/2018 18:01

Have the wedding. Have the baby. Enjoy the lot. Seriously, does anybody believe that brides in a pretty white dress are really virgins and it's all a big deal nowadays? At least this frees up your dress choice, brightly coloured and voluminous can now be in the running!

My friend was Irish catholic and 8 months at her wedding (in a catholic church in the UK). She chose the hymn Dear Lord And Father of Mankind, Forgive Our Foolish Ways. All was fine.

Oh we already have two kids so no one thinks I’m a virgin! Just don’t know if it’s so close to our due date.

I have emailed the venue to enquiry about a date change but invites have gone out. It’s a small wedding though so we shouldn’t have too much trouble informing everyone if it’s possible.

I only mentioned the in Ireland part because I am based in the UK, so we’re travelling from England to Ireland for the wedding

I think I'd try to change the date. It would be too much of a worry to chance it.
Fingers crossed you get a positive reply from the venue.
